The logic behind Alabama being racists because of the lack of black QBs is hilariously dumb.

Alabama probably has more racist fans than any other school in the country.. except on Saturday. That team is fricking 99% black just like every other SEC team

any fan base in the SEC calling any other fan base in the SEC racist is throwing boulders in glass houses

Auburn, Miss St, and LSU aren't far behind at all But you put on an SEC uniform and you may as well be just a real tan white boy.

Coker can make throws that neither McElroy nor AJ could make. He's got plenty of practice handing the ball off so playing under Center won't be an issue.
Alabama just needs someone who can make the occasional throw while playing smart football. He could turn out to be a stud, but in all actuality all we need is someone who won't frick up.
He'll have the entire summer to go through 7 on 7s to get his timing down with his WRs and Fall Camp to acclimate himself with the blocking schemes.

Just a season ago you guys were calling him "AJ McCannon" ... ? Maybe it's because he was always lights out against LSU but if you can throw the back-shoulders down the sideline what other throws are difficult to make?

We have some very uneasy auburn jimmies in this thread. Let's give them time to cool down.

I never called him that, but I'll still play along.
AJ was a very, very good QB for us. Perhaps the greatest of all time when it's all said and done.
However, he missed on several deep throws this past season. It could have been due to poor reads or poor routes, but he missed nonetheless.
Coker has an elite arm. That is undisputable. He fricking slings it. His problem is experience. But we've done well with guys with limited experience lately.
Another aspect he has on AJ is mobility. Coker ran the ball 70% of the time in high school and has shown great escapibility.

Zow didn't start Saturday for the first time all season because the coaches decided he was the right man at the right time. He started because the injured Tyler Watts couldn't. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
As Franchione said, "It wasn't a choice."

Apparently this guy is hall of fame worthy already judging from Alabama fans.

Oh stop it. No one has said that. Enthusiasm does not equal future success.
We are excited that he is coming based on his potential. We'll see how good he is once he arrives on campus.

While the ITAT and NtY spiel from allin gets old, at least be accurate in your response. Zow started most of 1998, but the starts were split in 1999. Watts was the starter when Alabama finished strong late in that season. Zow was injured agianst Tennessee. The 2000 season was lost all-around, with neither really accomplishing anything. Watts was hurt early in 2001, with Zow getting Alabama to a bowl that season.
I don't think Zow has ever gotten the recognition he deserved. He finished his career as Alabama's all-time passing leader (since broken). He also dealth with OC and head coaching changes on the regular. But I guess the same can be said for Watts' career as well.

My six year old daughter can throw the ball better than Watts.
He was good at what he did, but a passer he was not.

Zow would have been very good if he had a coaching staff worth a shite.
