Quick tell me why your opinion should matter if you don't vote? Wait, it doesn't matter because your voice is irrelevant. That is a good thing for the rest of us.

This is actually backwards. As is the majority of all "conventional wisdom" in the Twilight Zone in which we live.........

The reality is that the system is rigged. It's a scam. You're vote is meaningless, because you are being presented with an illusion..........that there is a choice. But, there isn't. It's a one-party system designed to distract you from the real threats and the real dangers.

They've got you idiots at each others throats thinking that if you don't vote for one party over the other that the world is going to end due to the handful of issues the parties disagree on. Meanwhile, of course, both parties agree on 99% of the same things.........

Long story short, you dupes that participate in the voting charade are the ones to blame. You validate these crooks by walking into their trap.

Show me a man with a bumper sticker on his car endorsing some politician for President, and I'll show you a hopeless fricking zombie idiot. Sorry. It's the Truth.

State Department? And that has exactly what to do with the DOD?Climbing?Complete BS...Wouldn't do much good to post a link because of course it we be a big govt lie.

Biggest part of the budget is DHS (medicare, medicade etc) and those cost DO escalate every year...unlike entitlement spending defense budgets can and do go up and down...

You wanna pull a 'trillions" out your arse be my guest...hey it fits what you believe...those are the best kind of facts.

Are you retarded?

Any schlub can go to google or wikipedia and look at the numbers for military spending alone. I'm wasting my time with someone like you here. The U.S. admits to spending around $800 billion. But, as I explained, the admitted government numbers are cooked and minimized. But, if you add in the spending used to support and execute and borrow for our militarized foreign policy........the numbers easily top ONE TRILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, small countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Turky, Venezuala, etc etc spend more than the measly $640 million you claim that that the U.S. spends annually.

Seriously man. This is embarrassing stuff you are claiming. Can you even see that?

Sorry........but this shite is so offensive that, for your own good, you really need to have your nose rubbed in this giant shite you've squatted down and taken on the carpet.........

I did some quick math: If we take the government's own cooked and fraudulent numbers as they state them for 2013 "defense" spending at $737 billion..........and divide it by 365...........that comes out to a little over 2 BILLION dollars.

In other words, you claim that the feds only spend 640 million per year on "defense"...........but they actually admit to spending more than THREE TIMES THAT AMOUNT...............PER frickING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey. Did you see that Seahawks player act a fool? shite was awesome! Go Dawgs! s.i.y.g.e. We're doomed.

It isn't the fact that we are taxed that makes me mad. It is the socialist idealism of progressive taxes that hurts my family. We run a small family owned business and find about 40 percent of our income being taxed when it's all said and done. This is tough when the government isn't paying for your health-care. At the very least, we should have the right to tell the government we will save our own money rather than paying Social Security. The government has proved that they cannot handle saving our money, so why do I have to keep putting that responsibility in their hands?

I really hate correcting people but there is no way on gods green earth you are being taxed at 40pct. If you are going to complain about taxes fine have at it but don't fabricate your income to tax ratio to prove your point.

Social Security has been taking care of senior citizens and continues to do so. You may not agree with it but the fact of the matter is...it's not going anywhere and the money that goes into is being used to help people. Don't listen to the dipshyts on fox news telling you all this propaganda about it being unsustainable in 30 years.

How so? Look, I get people hate America and think that America is this evil place that supposed to be about small government but just imagine if you actually lived in a country that was actually oppressive. The fact that you can even speak this nonsense is a blessing.

quote:

Can't have it both ways can we? If you really do want to pay 40pct maybe they could pay for our healthcare. That doesn't fly well with Americans at least not yet. There are countries that provide healthcare but they also have an increased tax rate in order to sustain it. I pay a ton of taxes just like everyone else but it is not at a 40pct rate (Laughable). I also pay for my own healthcare (15k) last year alone. Combine the 2 taxes and healthcare (now we are at 40 pct).

quote:

socialist idealism of progressive taxes

Can you explain socialism to me because again it sounds like a big fancy word that you don't formally understand. What's next, anyone who doesn't agree with this rhetoric is a commie?

Is it okay to listen to the SSA who says the very same thing on your annual statement?

quote:

Social Security’s total expenditures have exceeded non-interest income of its combined trust funds since 2010, and the Trustees estimate that Social Security cost will exceed non-interest income throughout the 75-year projection period.
LINK

Not helping the argument at all is the fact that the Federal Government hasn't saved a red cent of any SS withholdings in the history of EVER. IT doesn't go into some "lockbox" where it gets paid out back to the current generation in 45 years. It gets spent every fricking day to fund pork barrel projects like those tunnels at the beach so native turtles can cross the road safely. 2013 Waste Report The myth that it's "borrowed" is one of the greatest lies the devil ever told. An IOU gets shoved into a drawer in WV, (where the king of pork barrel projects Sen. Robert Byrd had a massive SSA complex built), and it just gets added to the deficit.

It does?

There have been many people look at the numbers and none of them agree on when the money runs out so how exactly are you coming to this random conclusion and timeline as to when this unsustainable entity drys up?

You're not a "numbers person," are you?

Anyone can see with figures published by the government and freely available to the public that the ratio of those currently paying in per person drawing on Social Security has been decreasing steadily over time. Once that figure goes below one, the system collapses.

It's a Ponzi scheme. If I were to put a description of the mechanics of Madoff's fraud and that of the Social Security system, and removed the names, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The whole thing is a wealth redistribution system designed to buy votes. That's not an opinion: that's what the numbers say. If you think there's going to be anything left for you when you reach retirement age you're sadly deluded.

Irrelevant. The money paid to you by the federal government for your contract work, had to first be confiscated/stolen by the government from someone else.... before it could then be given to you.

This makes you a recipient of confiscated/stolen money. Sorry. Deal with it.

Let's also discuss the fact that the person working in private industry needs to save about $2.65 million dollars to equal the payouts on the average government worker's pension...a pension for which that private individual has already paid for.

It's worse than theft. It's economic rape...and we're being told to smile and feel grateful for it.

SS is a Ponzi scheme? Lol nice sound bite but a ridiculous assertion. SS has literally kept starving senior citizens off the streets for decades. What do you propose we do? Yes, it is unsustainable at this time. But things can be done to fund it. It all depends on whether or not we want old people starving on the street because that's what will happen.

Ponzi Scheme (defined from Investopedia): A fraudulent investing scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors. The Ponzi scheme generates returns for older investors by acquiring new investors. This scam actually yields the promised returns to earlier investors, as long as there are more new investors. These schemes usually collapse on themselves when the new investments stop.

A challenge for you: go take a look at how current social security payments are financed (hint: change 'beneficiaries' to 'investors' in your mind as you read along) and please explain to me the difference.

Maybe allow people to make the best retirement decisions for themselves using the money they earned through their hard work? In fact, three Texas counties did just that with a decidedly better outcome.

quote:

It all depends on whether or not we want old people starving on the street because that's what will happen.

Or because that's what happens when people have the expectation that the government is going to provide for them in perpetuity. It's called a "moral hazard." I'll let you look that one up yourself.

Take a look at what happens in places without a social safety net, like China: where people average a 50% savings rate. They know the government isn't going to help them and they plan accordingly.

In other words, people on average make the best decisions for themselves when we allow them to do so. Without government theft, without a broken and convoluted bureaucracy.

But, you won't hear that from the government mouthpieces, because this whole system is all about dependency and not charity.

Take a look yourself, from the SS website. I can't give you the exact date (and neither can anyone else), but the trendline is pretty clear.

And hey, if you wanna roll the dice on expecting a bunch of self-interested thieves and murderers in Washington to give enough of a shite about you to not rob you blind, that's your own prerogative.
