I'd be surprised if they get the game in. Its still pretty damp out
Posted on 3/28/14 at 7:31 pm to Cockopotamus
They started it at 8:15 and are now playing...there's still a misty rain falling, but they're giving it a go....

I guess since tomorrow is almost certainly not going to happen they want to get in one game today so they can do a double header Sunday.
Tied 1-1 top 8, UT with 2 on and 1 out though.
Good to see Montgomery have a good game.

Bout to head out to todays game, hopefully we can bring out the brooms today.

Good job by the Gamecocks sweeping the Vols. We could've very easily come into today's game trying to prevent being swept. Our pitching was dominant this weekend, and out hitting was....timely...

Grayson Greiner with a walkoff
No idea why App State decided to pitch to him in that situation.

Perfect Game names Wil Crowe Midseason Freshman of the Year

Midseason Freshman of the Year: Wil Crowe, rhp, South Carolina
It was difficult not to go with Auburn two-way player and righthanded pitcher Keegan Thompson in this spot, because he's well deserving as well. But overall, I gave the edge to righty Wil Crowe, who's been a mainstay and consistent arm in the Gamecocks' weekend rotation.
Crowe, a former 31st round pick to the Cleveland Indians and 6-foot-1, 230-pounder, is mature beyond his years, and that shows with each outing. Crowe has a 1.37 ERA in 46 innings, along with 28 strikeouts and six walks and a .214 opposing batting average.

Tonight's game vs. Arkansas has been postponed due to threatening weather. DH Friday beginning at 4:05 eastern. #Gamecocks

Why would they do a DH on Friday instead of just making it like a normal weekend series that starts on Friday?

Gamecocks take G1 2-1, Monty was money again seems like he's hitting his stride after a struggling first 2 weeks in the SEC. Second game starts at 7:35PM

Really good to here. Monty struggled in the SEC + Clemson so I was worried that he was having trouble against more talented teams. Glad to see him do well on the road, and at a place where we historically have performed poorly.

big 4 by avg for Carolina (Bright/Greiner/Pankake/Martin) went a combined 3 for 29 with 3 walks 8 strikeouts and 1 rbi in the DH Friday.
Game 2 was an ugly game for both teams. hogs set the tone early with their errors and Carolina returned the favor along with hitting into 3 double plays.
grit defines this team as shown by winning game 1. game 3 will hopefully be another "battle it out" and find a way to win game for USC.
