Bases loaded 1 out still in 4th inning...
K-Mart hits into a certain dbl-play, but 2B fields it and tries to flip it with his glove to SS at 2B, but MUFFS IT!! Run scores to make it 3-1 Gamecocks, bases still loaded and only 1 out.
Bright hits a fly out to CF...play at the plate....NO, throw cut off and Pankake is out at 3B, but not before Schrock scores to make it 4-1 Gamecocks!!
Pankake makes them throw to 3B, and runs between the bases to make them chase him and spend time, to allow a gimpy Max to make it across home safely and score the run. Good play on Joey's part....

Top of the 6th inning, bases loaded with Rebels, 2 outs....
Montgomery possibly tiring now...well over 100 pitches thrown. And on the 117th pitch he gives up a grand slam home run as Ole Miss takes a 6-4 lead. Monty retires the next batter to end the side, but his day is most likely done...

Still 6-4 Rebels top of 9th inning...Fiori has done a solid job settling down the Rebels' bats, but thus far they have out-played the Gamecocks in the opening game...

Gamecocks can't get a rally going, and fall to the Rebels 6-4 in Game 1 of the series. Ole Miss played the better game tonight....hopefully we respond better tomorrow...

Ole Miss is the better team this series...that powder puff non-conf. schedule has hurt us IMO...I think it's fooled our coaching staff as much if not more than it fooled our team...
