Let's hope so, he could be a big spark to the Bama offense.
Its actually the defense I'm worried about, it wet the bed a few times last year.

No you just don't warrant much of a response after such an insanely moronic post, like the one you made earlier.

To expect any sort of "disaster" from a Nick Saban coached team is hilarious

this team is full of Gus' recruits. He was only gone for about 10 months. Prosch is prob the only guy that was not suited for Gus bec he didn't have the hands of an Eric Smith...but we have Ricky PArks taking that role now.

I know it's rare on the rant, but finally someone with some common sense.

They may be Gus's recruits from three years ago, but Gus was not around to develope them. Take the WR position, TT could recruit but could not coach WRs. Craig did more in 4 months than TT did in 4 years. Same with the OL, Chizik still wanted the large OL. They recruited some good OLs Gus's last year, but a year with Scott Loefler's Offense changed the dynamics of that unit.
Gus did not get to run his complete HUNH Offense under Chizik. He has had one spring and one Fall to put in place what he wanted, and you saw the results. Now he has time to develope a second WR besides Coates, a QB and increase the pace of the OL play. My guess is that next years Offense will be totally different than what you saw this year.

So a former 3 star back up qb with a torn meniscus who doesn't know the playbook or the players around him is the future of the bama program?

I feel pretty good about this transfer.

In other words, you have no response to the highly probable scenario that this guy won't be nearly as awesome as you all are certain that he will be. Got it.

Getting your butts kicked by a freshman QB doesn't qualify as a disaster?

But, but, the quotes. Haven't you read the quotes? He's the lovechild of a Cam Newton-Jamarcus Russell-Tim Tebow three-way.

With a huge arm and insane athleticism at 6'5" 230lbs.

He may not even play, but it's good to have more competition.

And Jimbo's system is similar to what we've been running, the verbage is different, but he can have a playbook in his hands before he gets here. And he'll have all Summer and Fall to work with the offense.

You should.

If Coker is even 80% of what Jameis is, we'll be in the national title hunt. And by all that have seen him practice/play (very few on this board) he is a little better than that.

Let's not forget, Saban won a natty with McElroy under center.

The landscape of the SEC is vastly different than it was back then. You can't hide your QB anymore.

We don't know.

Coker
Cornwell
Bateman

That's my top three. You can't count out Alec Morris or Blake Sims though. McLeod is here, but I'm not sure he'll stick around if he doesn't look good in the Spring.

We'll be fine regardless of who it is. The most physical talent goes to either Coker or Cornwell though.

Why wait? He'd be a guaranteed starter immediately if he transfers to Bama.

No, he is not.

Saban doesn't start the QB with the most talent. He starts the QB that is smartest with the football and knows the offense best.

Period.

If Coker comes to Bama and has a steeper learning curve than he originally thought, he could wind up being a backup at another school.

Also, if he is just as athletic as Jameis, has a stronger and more accurate arm, is bigger and stronger, and is smarter (obviously haha), why did he get beaten out?

He sounds like he's awesome and I'm sure he's a good QB, but he if sticks around at FSU he will start in 2015 and continue the momentum of that program which is every bit as high as Bama's at the moment or higher.

Good for Bama if it happens, just don't expect another Cam Newton. Thats just unrealistic.

I'm sure there was a deal breaker somewhere. Jameis may be more accurate, or maybe Coker has fumble problems when he scrambles. No way of knowing exactly.

Released? That's interesting. Jimbo must have another very good quarterback waiting in the wings
to step in if Winston goes down(?)

I don't understand that part either. Maybe they mean when he graduates Jimbo will grant him his transfer. I thought if you graduate, you didn't need to be granted a transfer by the coach.

shhh.... let them dream...

the hype for a kid who's never taken a meaningful college snap in his career, is coming off a knee injury, and won't get to campus until the summer is unreal.
