The Heisman should go to McCarron

And I'll tell you why. It has nothing to do with Winston and the "trouble" he recently got out of. McCarron has proven he can lead a team in three consecutive years to championships and one of the top 5 teams in the country. He's a great passer, reliable under pressure, and foremost: a leader. Being a leader is one of the most underrated talents of some great QBs. Lets face it, Tebow was a great leader and that alone should land him some sort of role on the field even if it is as a coordinator. I would rather have McCarron than Winston any day.
Unfortunately the awards usually go to the hottest thing now, not over a career.
So saying all that, I think the Heisman goes to Winston but McCarron deserves it.

I would agree. Given the right offense, he would've put up some ridiculous stats. He just happens to play for a team that had Ingram, Richardson, Lacy and Yeldon during his career.

Winston is the best player in cfb this year and this year is all that really matters. It's an annual award, not a career achievement.

I'd give it to the NIU guy first. He put up some ridiculous stats. I feel like you could slide Murray in with McCarron and you'd get the same results.

I think they should do away with the Heisman trophy..winner is usually a popularity contest (last year's manti teo as an ex)..never reflects who is really the best player and most winners disappear in the NFL are are never heard from nor seen again.
ps..was not implying Teo won, but the fact he was even considered shows most folks in the sports media don't know s**t from shinola..

It's not a lifetime achievement award. Is he the BEST player in america THIS year, in 2013?
No, of course not. So he doesn't deserve it.

Yeah, obviously. LIke it's supposed to.

AJ has been the backbone of the Alabama offense (he really is a "game manager"), but the offense doesn't rely on the QB to win them games. Their OL and RB positions have been the primary threat with a QB who can throw the ball well enough to keep the defense honest.
The difference between AJ and other QBs like JFF and the Winston is that those guys can throw their teams on their backs and carry them to a win. AJ is an important piece of a very balanced and complete offense, but he isn't a game-maker by himself, unlike the others.

I couldn't disagree more. I think he's a great quarterback but you put a different team around him then he wouldn't get near the recognition he's receiving. All those good things you said about him you can say about a huge number of QB's.
He just does a pretty good job on a very fricking good team. To say he's the most outstanding/valuable/irreplaceable player in college football would mean you're not looking very hard.

FSU lost a first round draft pick at QB and upgraded. Significantly. Let that sink in for a minute before you start up the McCarron for Heisman garbage
