It makes it funny that you call us out for something your program did. That's all

So you guys bitched over refs, didn't play for 40 years, needed state legislature to risk removing substantial parts of your funding before it started up again, annddd you're calling us out for not playing our rival? Gotcha

Look if you don't want to compete on the field with UT and worried about a resurgent UT taking the Texas lead in recruiting, just admit it. The Aubs have been trying for years to knock Bama off their pearch and still haven't got the job done.

If you are the superior program then man up play the game...beating that Whorn arse every year will show 'em.....

We said we would play them. They said no. They are living with their decision. Funny how when we wanted to play them we were obsessed and couldn't get over them, but now we are scared

I can understand this perspective. We shouldn't back down from a rivalry, but they are so shitty. What if we made the terms of renewing the LSS heavily slanted in our favor? Would that still be considered "pussying out" on the rivalry?

Example:

1. Since none of the first 20 games from 1894 to 1916 were played in College Station, the first 20 games from 2015 to 2035 will be played in College Station.

2. The game will be played at the beginning of the season, not on Thanksgiving.

3. The longhorns will never play on Thanksgiving again.

4. Only refs that are Aggies will be used.

5. A&M keeps all game proceeds and the SEC keeps all television money.

If they agree to that, we have a deal.

Since joining the SEC, the power in state has shifted to A&M, partly due to the selfish and short-sighted decsions by UT. If you are confident in your program, you should have the confidencce to beat that Whorn arse and prove on the field which program in the the great State of Texas is the superior brand of football.

However, by not playing the game, the fans suffer. Its unthinkable that UF would not play FSU or USCe not play Clemson. If its the economics you are worried about, that can be negotitaed. I realize UT has shite on Aggie for years, but not working out a negotiated settlement and not playing the game is a bitch move even if it was the Whorns who were short sighted..particularly when eveyone in the SEC (except LSU) plays a rival.

you fail to recognize that neither side wants to play the game right now. We we were willing to continue it and bend over backwards to fit them in yearly. They said no

its not just the economics. Its everything. they have a warped since of reality caused by their arrogance. They still think its 1955 and that they can dictate terms and everything has to benefit them. frick that

If they pay us $100,000,000.00 and agree to play all games at Kyle, SOLELY on the SEC network, we have a deal.

Get over it.....Aggie has the upper hand today...its not the 1950's anymore....you have a raging case of little brother syndrome and I swear you Ags are worse than Auburn fans when it comes to your in-state rival. Bama shite all over Auburn for years particularly during the Bryant era but they at least have the stones to stand-up and punch the bully in the nose....and AU-UA between The Bear and Saban has been evenly matched with AU holding a slight advantage.

I get where you guys are coming from, but eventualy Aggie needs to play this game. You're representing the SEC now not UT's little brother anymore.

You're absolutely right...eventually...on our terms.

They've already publicly stated that they don't have an opening until at least 2018. We're simply making them keep their word.

responding to ignorance is having little bro syndrome? You have no fricking clue about anything regarding this issue and you are talking down to us because? Of course its going to eventually come back. But its going to take time to do so

How come when we offered to play them, it wasn't little bro syndrome that kept them from playing us, and it was little bro syndrome that drove us to want to keep playing them, but now, that are telling them no, it is little bro syndrome driving the decision?

I have lived in Texas for 13 years son and so I know more than a little about the situation....I am well aware of the history and issues there....its also the SEC Rant and you are being a little sensitive.

...but I am sure you don't want to give that scheduling advantage now do you?

We were called little bro for wanting to play them, now that we don't want to, its because of little bro syndrome. If you trully understood the situation we were in, you would understand NEITHER side wants to play right now

When the Aggies joined the SEC Pres. Loftin made it very clear that Texas A&M wanted to continue to play Texas at the end of the year.

The Texas administration shitted all over that offer.

Longhorns can continue to play the Iowa State's and TCU's of the world. Screw them!

If they agree to play all their home games every year on the SEC network and have all games at Kyle in perpetuity, with a Texas Constitutional Amendment containing said terms, we have an agreement.

Here's what I don't get. The person most responsible for the break was Dodds, a guy who is now leaving. Most Texas fans didn't want the rivalry gone, and from what I gather aggies didn't either.

Now that Dodds is gone, it seems awfully petty for your side not to at least be open to the game. If you are really the dominate Texas team you claim to be, your attitude should be "anywhere, anytime"

I'm the oddball here who would like to see the game renewed, sooner rather than later. But the OP's link has thrown everyone off and into a tizzy. There is no evidence that Texas wants to play this game again. None.

You don't get it. Part of a rivalry is fricking with your rival. While they struggle and Mack Brown loses to also-rans like Ole Miss, flaunting this SEC shite in their face only adds fuel to the fire. We will play again, but there are bigger things at work here. A&M has a chance to cement a national identity. Establishing great games against great SEC foes is more important than the Lone Star Showdown at the moment. It's also fun to watch them squirm. I got a barage of texts from tu friends and coworkers over this. I get from an outsider that just likes rivalry games, you want to see the game. I can't blame you. But as a gump, don't you know what "living" the rivalry is about? This is part of the Aggies, and especially the Former Students, living the rivalry. You don't know what our success is doing to them. It's fricking awesome. I wouldn't change it for the world.
