Landon Collins' mom was outspoken about LSU. Her children play for Alabama and Florida.

Oh I agree its a dumb metric. Just saying why they are so desperate about him. He is their class, even though they need 15 more commits not one.

Looks like Malik was very impressed with UCLA's win over tu and has now set up an official visit with them. How worried should we be right now?

My initial reaction is to not be worried. I think his mom's health ultimately keeps him close to home.

That said, UCLA has shown they can recruit LBs that we want

If the visit is the Oregon game, not at all.

Recruiting update post game

Final list of recruits:

2015
Timber Creek, FL RB Jacques Patrick (official)
Saguaro, AZ WR Christian Kirk (official)
Allen QB Kyler Murray
Clear Lake TE Jordan Davis
Sulphur Springs S Larry Pryor Jr
Gladewater DT Daylon Mack
GIlmer DB Kris Boyd
Cedar Hill WR DaMarkus Lodge
Cedar Hill LB Richard Moore

2016
Westfield WR Tyrie Cleveland
Sachse DB Jared Mayden
Katy Tompkins DB Christian Wallace
Argyle TE JC Chalk
Kingwood RB Sewo Olonilua
North Shore DB Eric Monroe

2017
Frisco OL Jack Anderson

Notes:
-Christian Kirk had a great visit, A&M seems to be in the driver's seat
-Kendall Sheffield plans to change one of his officials to A&M after speaking with our coaches
-Holton Hill still really like us, will take an official. Texas is falling fast on his list
-Corey Dauphine seems 100% to Tech
-JW Ketchum has impressed the staff of late, but still isn't a QB
-Deshon Elliot is starting to look around, but we don't have room at this point
-2016 WR Tyrie Cleveland will commit when he can get his parents back on campus
-Eric Monroe really enjoyed his visit. Our 2016 DB class could be insane
-From all accounts, no need to worry about Mr. Mack
-Due to a school mixup, Connor Lanfear is no longer a mid-term guy

My thoughts:
-Judging by no comments on Jacques Patrick, I'm guessing the situation is exactly what we thought...a long shot. Could be they haven't spoken with him yet
-I think it's a big deal that our staff called Kendall after he announced his 5 OVs. If our staff did in fact persuade him to change one to A&M, I really like our chances
-I think it will be interesting going forward on how we proceed with early offers. The staff is clearly becoming more selective, but these kids seem to get their feelings hurt if they don't get an offer right away. Who knows?

Current list of Ole Miss visitors:

Poteet LB Malik Jefferson
Kentucky RB Damien Harris (official)
Destrahan, LA ATH Kirk Merritt (official)
Allen QB Kyler Murray (official)
Cedar Hill WR Damarkus Lodge (official)
Cedar Hill LB Richard Moore (official)
Alpharettta, GA LB Quarte Sapp
Clear Lake TE Jordan Davis (official)

Mr. Mack takes OV's to do recruiting for us.

Just a sliver. Of Disney World.

We need to make sure we keep him. Kyle Allen is NOT impressed me. I agree that it takes about a year to get used to the college game, but some of what I've seen is flat out

To be honest, I've thought the exact opposite...but I'm also judging based on potential, and not on if he were our starting QB right now. I just hope he continues to get in-game reps to help with the development process.

I disagree. He is oozing with potential but the decision making still needs work. He's a true freshman, after some work with Sumlin he can be incredible

Last year I was thinking the same thing about Kenny. He just really didn't impress me in his limited time. I am now 100% percent on board.

I am sure Kyle will sharpen up with more in game reps and time at practice. I think he will end up being a stud.

With SMU coming up he should get most of the second half.

That is always possible. Then again, we all laugh about how Garrett Gilbert was a can't miss prospect at t.u., and went ahead and did just that.

We're also not keeping a senior QB who is a 3 year returning starter in games late to pad stats. Hill has only started 3 games.

If that's the case will we have options to turn to. Even if Kyler decides to play baseball or something this staff will get another top QB talent.

Those lists of visitors were damn impressive. We didn't really run the ball that great against Rice, which probably didn't blow Patrick out of the water but he was a long shot anyway. Damien Harris is another long shot, but he seems a little more interested than Patrick is, honestly. But it's good to get Merritt in on an OV. I really think he can do great things for us like on a Percy Harvin/Marshall Faulk kind of level. They will defiantly see a good game. Ole Miss is always a good matchup.

DCS, for what it's worth, totalled almost 500 yards of offense again last week. Makes you wonder if people are going to see this and offer as a QB if he keeps this up.

After all, aren't quarterbacks allowed to not be the fastest guy on the team?

No, in all seriousness 3 weeks into the season and he's playing lights out, damn....

Elite speed or not, I'll take a good football player any day (despite what I said a few pages ago ).

You see the note on Kendall Sheffield and his OVs?
