In the NFL you can't hit a QB? Its funny y'all keep hitting on that single line instead of post after post by your fellow auburn fans that is full of complete bullshite but carry one.

I guess we'll have to and bump this thread next January after AJ gets drafted 1st overall and takes a 2-14 team to 11-5 and a playoff berth then, won't we? That'll be a fair comparison then.

He's running just fine in the NFL too.
4.1 avg on 62 attempts with 5 TD and 1 fumble

Finebaum is right. If he wins another MNC, then...
Vince Young
Tim Tebow
Cam Newton
RGIII
Peyton Manning
Archie Manning
Joe Namath
Carson Palmer
Gino Torretta
Danny Wuerffel
Ty Detmer
Andre Ware
Doug Flutie
Steve Spurrier
&
Davey O'Brien
would not be able to hold a candle to AJ McCarron!

Or how he didn't win a single thing of importance as the QB at Stanford, a team that won the PAC12 after he left?
Again we are talking about College Football and you guys keep presenting a stupid one sided argument so I am giving you another stupid one sided argument.
AJ has done a lot more than being a game manager, in fact he is the ONLY QB to win even two BCS titles as a starter and he has a chance for three with four overall.
You guys bring up stats but what stats? After all was not Luck the QB?
So AJ beats Luck out with
Passing Efficiency
TD/INT Ratio
Yards per attempt
Wins
Championships
See if you guys can pick and choose facts then anyone can. What makes a QB better? Wins? Stats? Because other than raw production (which is influenced by offensive style, game progression, opponent strengh) everything you would use to judge two pro style QBs, McCarron has better stats than Luck.
But then again he is just a game manager.

AJ McCarron isn't the best QB in history but he may be the best fit in history. He is a very good quarterback who does his job very well.
Same thing could be said for Cam Newton or Tebow. I think what you are going for is most decorated QB, and I think Tebow would still have him there unless AJ wins the Heisman.

quote:Because the posts aren't complete bullshite. Bama fans think AJ is the greatest QB ever, of course until Bateman starts next year then he will be, and he is not. He is a good QB on a great team not a great QB on a good or sorry team. You can put alot of QBs in the same situation AJ has been in and they would have been as good or better.

The stats say differently.

You actually think AJ McCarron was a better quarterback than Andrew Luck?

quote:Where's the stats from the other QBs that were put on Bama's team in place of AJ that didn't do as good? All you can show are the stats from AJ last year and in the only 2 games the pressure was on him A&M and UGA he threw 3 INTs to only 2 TDs.
The stats say differently.

Define better, because he has won more games, more championships and has higher Passing efficiency, TD to INT ratio, Yards per Attempt.
Again what in your mind is "better"?

AJ isn't better than Luck. Luck is an incredible QB.
However that does NOT diminish what AJ has accomplished. AJ is still a GREAT QB. Anyone that doesn't want to admit that is full of shite.

But, you know, you're one of those that love STATS, so I could argue with you until I was blue in the face and you would still stick to your homerish opinion. STATS don't tell the whole story.

Look, I love what A.J. McCarron has done at Alabama. And I think he has a chance to be a good NFL QB, but he is no where near Andrew Luck's level. To argue otherwise is foolish.
