Vehicular manslaughter if she was speeding and ran the light it is a class 1(1st degree) likely that can result in a sentence of 3 to 15 yrs depending on severity and states statutes, her record etc

Apparently a witness who she passed about a mile before saw her weaving in and out of traffic throwing her hands up and yelling. Presumably mad at how slow people were going (it was a 45 speed limit). One called the cops on her before the accident happened.

That'll give some ammo against the case then to allow the max penalty

The way a lot of states see it is using the car as a weapon and especially if she was driving erratically, ran a light and struck them at a fast enough speed to do what it did there is a clear cut case for max penalty and some states will even tack on homicide to it raising the jail time sometimes close to 30 years

Sounds like a pretty clear cut case though

I can only hope.

It would be a lie to say that I don't harbor pure hatred for this woman right now. I know that I can't hold onto that forever, for my own good, but it is so painful to see what she has done. I still have not seen a picture or heard her name, but I hope that she pays for the huge hole she has caused in a family.

I have always been one looking at these headlines in a "that is horrible" type of way. When you look at a headline and the man that was killed was such a close person, it is a dream/nightmare like feeling.

I can not fathom how his wife is truly feeling right now knowing she is now alone to raise two boys (one that is autistic to the point that he can be violent without knowing it and now can overpower her)

she deserves horrible things to happen to her. I hope she doesn't get some piece of shite judge that lets people off lightly.
