Give your easy-arse schedule in 2012 to TAM last year, and the Aggies go instead of Bama the SEC C.G.
TAM just got a small dose of what LSU has to swallow every year, and TAM lost a chance a an SEC Championship because Bama gets Tennessee each and every year.
The permanent cross-divisional opponent rule is blatantly unfair, and the SEC needs to have its nose rubbed in it every time the LSU faction gets a chance to raise the subject.
Alabama had Tennessee locked in back in 1992, when the divisions were created.
Going back to 1989, from the stretch of 89 - 2007, Tennessee had an overall record of 181-54, with 10 Ten-Win seasons. They ranked #5 in the country in winning % over that stretch.
Winning Percentage
Going from the actual separation of divisions in 1992, Tennessee was 152-48 with 9 Ten-Win seasons. They are still #5 in Winning % in the country during that stretch as well.
Still #5
Of course, Tennessee goes into a nose dive in 2008, the first year Alabama gets into what people now consider the dynasty. Basically Tennessee sucks when we get good, and thanks to the psychic division at SEC HQ who saw this coming back in 1992, we're prepped for some historic runs!
Oh, and if Alabama and A&M had swapped schedules?
We wouldn't have had to play LSU BEFORE A&M, and would've gone undefeated.

No.
In 2009, Alabama faced #2 UGA and #3 Tennessee in the regular season, as well as #4 Kentucky and #1 Florida in the SECCG. Alabama faced every SEC team with a winning record except one, 7-6 South Carolina.
I'm not sure how you're confused since your link has it correct.
Bama did not face UGA in 2009 (FWIW LSU faced both SEC East #2 UGA and SEC East #1 Florida in the 2009 regular season).
In the regular season Alabama played 7-6 Tennessee, 7-6 South Carolina, and 7-6 Kentucky

Georgia wasn't even on their 2009 schedule, and neither Tennessee nor Kentucky were ranked in 2009.
Nevertheless, that was Bama's only undefeated season and most dominate team in the past four years.

*sigh*
That's what I get for posting right after waking up.

Cowherd is brilliant. He knows how to get ratings. This thread is solid proof.

Well they got it this yr and their ooc schedule is worse than ours as well iirc. So let's see how it plays out chief.

What do ATM and Bama have, 13th and 14th strength of schedule?
Pathetic.
Pathetic.

But it seems we should all have a similar path if possible. And it clearly appears with 6 top heavy teams , 3 in each division. That would be possible. Especially since the bridge schedule does not rely on past scheduling or future. Just seems BAMA-UGA, UF-LSU, SCAR-TAMU, is real simple. But that didn't happen

I know its been posted many, many times before, but this response deserves this:

Notice how you included your permanent eastern opponent in with our rotational. Just pointing it out.

When the original permanent opponent as made it was made to preserve great rivalries and not to screw LSU who was an afterthought at the time as they were horrible.

We did get an easy SEC draw this year compared to some of our previous schedules, just like LSu got an easy SECE draw in 11 . It happens with the rotation.
Funny you should mention 2011. That was the year we played what many said was the hardest schedule of all-time. Nuetral versus Oregon and At West Virginia OOC.

Whoever made that needs to be given like a million dollars.
Posted on 5/16/13 at 9:33 am to XbengalTiger
That means you are this upset about a single game.

And what is the point?

Exactly what I said in the post.
Also a lot more goes into scheduling games than just these would be good matchups. Many rivalry games have set dates, OOC games have been agreed to in advance and the bye week rule are just a few examples off the top of my head. I am sure there are many more.

You're the moron. Although Womack chaired the committee, the "scheduling guru" is Larry Templeton.. And as even you can see, he's a leghumper, not a Bama alum.

Mark is that you? Lol. All of this could have been worked out.
