I am not discrediting the hire, I think he is a terrific coach but I also think he will find ways to lose a few games a year that will cost you conference championships. Would you take a guy that you knew would win you 8 or 9 a year and have you competitive in every game or would you want a guy that you aren't sure of yet that COULD POSSIBLY win you a few national titles? Not saying that is going to happen, but I think Bielema is sized up and I have a pretty good feeling where he is while not knowing where the ceiling is for Gus and Jones.

Bielema already has 4 good recruiters on the staff with a few more spots to fill. that will pay dividends... we haven't hit our capacity yet in recruiting.

Well that's good, we'll see how Arkansas recruits the next two years. I was just going off his recruiting at UW, which was never very good. But he's in a much better area now

Me too

Our first two commitments for 2014 are 4 stars so he's off to a good start

the problem with Arkansas for recruiting is that they have no fast access to anywhere but Arkansas. The state puts out a few good players a year and if you lock those down, you still have to go into Big 12 country to get the rest. Sumlin seems to have his shite going at A&M so Arkansas will be hard pressed to go south to get recruits.

Meh. Not really. Arkansas and UT aren't the most fertile of soils to recruit. They won't be getting shite out of Texas with aTm and LSU.

It's still far easier to recruit at Arkansas than Wisconsin

i feel slightly better than lsu fans did when they hired saban or miles.

BB is in for a war. I'd certainly like to see yall competitive again. I hate knowing Bama will be undefeated every year when we play them

Don't get me wrong though, Arkansas can get fricked. I hate Dale

fair enough. Will Arkansas be patient enough to let him grow there? Auburn probably wouldn't and most forget that BB is only early 40s so he could be a long term guy if Arkansas is willing to bide time while the West eats itself. i don't think Auburn will be. If Malzahn is shitting the bed after a couple years, whether the team is better or not, he will probably be shown the door.

No flame intended for this post but...there's a difference in going to LSU from the Big X and Arky. We have a lot of Louisiana talent to recruit and no in state rival.

And Miles obviously took over a good program. So that leaves us with Saban. And I know you're not comparing BB to the GOAT.

Arky will be back being Arky. 8 wins and a whole lot of hope while barking at LSU like a street dog.

true that. bielemas slightly better record at the time of his hiring will help to alleviate some of discrepancies of the talent in arky compared to louisiana.

bielema is taking over a better program than petrino took from the nutt job

can only hope 2B's will eventually be able to be mentioned in the same breath as the GOAT

Really? After this past year?

Eta mikes took over a program that was only 4 years out from their last NC and phenomenal recruiting. Slightly different.

This season's record was due to poor coaching, not personnel issues

It will not be us. We will bring in top 10-15 classes every year as we have the past 5 years and we will still suck on gamedays for whatever reason.

I honestly do not expect us to ever win more than 8 or 9 games again in my lifetime. We are cursed.

Agreed but LSU had some talent as well. I mean Jamarcus went #1 overall. Miles has obviously overcome the "won with Sabans players" stigma, but he obviously came into a very talented team.
