Really? After this past year?

This team is drastically more talented than what Petrino inherited in '08. Bielema wont be required to play 19 freshmen next season like Petrino did that season.

We'll be in NC talks before AU or TN

Before i start, I think Tennessee is in for a long next few years. I can't speak for Auburn. With that said, Arky is coming off a 4-8 season. What exactly gives you guys the confidence that you'll just hop right back into the top 5? LSU, Bama, and TAMU aren't going anywhere. Arky is fricked.

FWIW, Arky was ranked 3rd in the country going into the last game of the season in 2011 and still no one was SERIOUSLY mentioning Arky in NC talks, except of course Arky fans. That's about as close as they'll come for a loooong time.

the SEC can only hope and dream...

then reality sets in and they realize we're on the upswing while others are treading water or sinking

Gus has players in place who already know his system. If he can find a decent QB, Auburn will be back as soon as next year.
Could not have been said better. If, and that's a big if, he can find the right QB and develop that QB into an SEC level QB, then we will likely find success.

Not trying to flame, but your empty rhetoric doesn't help Arkansas' chances.

And an upswing is far from competing for the conference championship.

D. None of the above

Agreed. The topic would've been better phrased as..

Which dumpster fire will be reduced to embers and ashes first?

5 wins would be an upswing, so it wouldn't take much.

Easily, UT. Aubie & Ark will not be able to get any higher than 4th in the west. BAMA, LSU, & A&M will be the top 3 in the west for the forseable future. They'll battle the Mississippi schools for the scraps.

UT will have a much easier path and will be back to competing within 2 years for the sece spot in the seccg. They hired the best coach (ark is a very close second) of the three.

I do agree with the Tuberville comparison though. IMO in the SEC, Bielema will always have Arkansas as a good, very tough team that wins around 8 games with an upset or two. He'll be an alright recruiter, but will coach the guys up. But he'll have to get pretty lucky to win the SEC
I don't think Tubberville was "lucky" to win the SEC in 2004, but I see your point.

I'm not sure if that supposed to be a burn...but you do realize that was like a turd calling another turd a piece of shite, right? You sucked, we sucked...you just sucked a little more and actually did what Tenner has never felt....losing 8 games in a season.

In that case, the situation was lucky. The only good team in the West was LSU

Arkansas will not be in NC talks before AU because Arkansas will never be in NC talks and AU will have another good year in the future.

TN is a wild card considering in state talent is so low but if they can pull of a coach who can recruit they have the tradition and support
