My thoughts on Bielema is that he is very similar to Tubs as a coach. He will keep winning you 8 or 9 games but he won't win you a championship. Over the course of a career he might appear to be the best hire for wins and losses, but he will win less division and conference titles than the other two.

Muschamp ran off about 10 or so. That is quite a few. UF was down to 62 guys last year on an 85 man roster. He just ran off 2 more in the last 2 days as well. He is not putting up with any shite at UF, like Meyer did. Culture change.

Gus has players in place who already know his system. If he can find a decent QB, Auburn will be back as soon as next year. Arky has a good shot of being back next year, too.

Tennessee is at least a year away.

In a very very weak conference with OSU not eligible.

In the Big 10 and he won a couple of those with 8 or 9 wins no? The Big 10 sucks these days and his best Wisconsin team would have been an 8 or 9 win team in the SEC East.

OSU was eligible in 2010 and 2011 when he won it back to back.

Not to mentioned he's hired a fantastic staff, especially getting Pittman on for OL coach.

Our recruiting class in limited time will likely end up pretty good, we have a ton of visitors in January just because of Bielema and Pittman/Chaney among others. Not shitty low rated recruits either.

And he was lucky that OSU was going through all that shite. Not taking anything away from him. He's probably a great coach.

No, he won 11 games both years (11-1 and 11-2).

I do agree with the Tuberville comparison though. IMO in the SEC, Bielema will always have Arkansas as a good, very tough team that wins around 8 games with an upset or two. He'll be an alright recruiter, but will coach the guys up. But he'll have to get pretty lucky to win the SEC

Yeah, I just went and looked at it and he did win 11 each of the other years but he also came in third in his division with the two in front of him being ineligible this year.

in 2010 and 2011, his 11 win teams, he only beat 1 team each year that had 10 wins. Essentially no quality wins. Can't hold that against him since he couldn't up and move conferences but he lost to some mediocre teams. He just reminds me a lot of Tubs for the overall career arch that he has/will take.

if tenner or aubie had hired bielema, they'd be thanking their lucky stars and laughing at all the schools that hired second tier coaches from the sun belt/big east

but since arky hired him they gotta find shitty reasons to attempt to discredit him and try to rationalize how arky was able to hire a better coach than them.

I agree with your comparison. BB is not a superstar hire and they'll compete, but it'll take some crazy shite happening for them to win the conference.

We've generally hovered around the 30th ranked class the past few years with terrible recruiters on the staff. There was maybe one, two good recruiters on Petrino's staff. That was it

Bielema already has 4 good recruiters on the staff with a few more spots to fill. that will pay dividends... we haven't hit our capacity yet in recruiting.
