13 years is a long time to be doing something like that, bout time for some new blood.

Gus coming in, taking names, and firing those names and by golly I kind of like it.

Yox has been let go with other assistants. Since that is a head coach hire, he will not interview after coordinators are hired. #auburn

Has this been reported from anyone other than WarBlogle?

Ryan Davis from Samford would be an excellent replacement IMO

I know a few guys that play for Samford and they have gotten pretty freaking big since going there.

This was the last hold-over from the Tuberville Era -- yox came over with tubs in 99... it's a little bitter sweet.

You sure about that? Yox was at UCLA before Auburn and I thought Al Borges recommended him as a former associate from UCLA. Borges didnt come til later after Mazzone got run off.

They actually got a new S&C this year. The previous one left for Clemson. Ryan Davis came over from Bama as an assistant there for the last 3 or so years. He's really good at what he does. And most importantly he brings discipline and tough work ethic with him. He's a textbook definition of a hardass.

Chizik did the same, and he had to get rid of some talented coaches.
