Meh, Yox allowed himself to get undermined. I think it is time for a fresh start with the S&C program. Yox has been incredible, but a fresh start is needed IMO.

I am sorry, but GC allowed it, not Yox. Yox did what he was told. He is not a decision maker

Semantics. Regardless, at that point it is hard to recover.

Make 'em do stairs until they puke, then make 'em do it again.

Order restored.

Not really. Bust their arse for a few weeks and he'll have it back.

I think he meant it would be hard for Yox to recover at this point. Mentally it would be tough for him to feel like he is in 100% control.

Like in my redux thread, dont fall for the trap. Yox is an asset to the program. Dont fall for the releases that take a revisionist approach to GC's tenure at Auburn. He can only do what is allowed of him. He is/was a peon in the decision making hierarchy. under Tubs he had a much greater scope in his authority

Not saying it is Yox's fault per say, most of the blame lies on Chizik, however, Yox's control and status has been deminished in the eyes of the players. I dot care how many up downs you do, that is hard to earn back.

I agree with all of this. However, I would also be willing to give the new HC complete discretion in regards to his staff. If he felt a change was needed, then let him make the change. Blaming the S&C guy for what has happened over the last two years is laughable.

Absolutly

Also, at this point, I beleive this is still a rumor, as Yox is an AD employee, not a Football employee. If Gus, does not want him to handle the S&C of the FB program, that's fine.

ETA. I also find it funny that under Chiz, you dont really see many players that talk about Yox all that much, which is a polar opposite from under Tubs. Yox was a mentor to the players under Tubs, GC's staff, I am guessing decided they needed to fill that role instead of S&C. we see how well that worked

I know you are right after talking to guys that played under Tubs.

Hard to near impossible to earn your position back after GC scrweed you over by taking away your authority

I know/knew several players under Tubs. They still hold yox in higher regard than many of the coaches. One in particular,(I have stated this before) is now in the Military(special forces) and said that his training under Yox, is and was by far more gruelling than anything the milatry has thrown at him

People can argue with him philosophy wise (he is definitely old school) but he can train guys when given the proper authority. I still feel like he has to go though due to his being undermined by the Chiz and Co. Time for a new face

I guess it's official.

Auburn's strength and conditioning coach Kevin Yoxall has been released. He's been at Auburn since 1999. I'm interested to hear Rob Pate's take on this.
