I actually wish Alabama or LSU were playing them sometime soon
last LSU/ND and LSU/Canes games are my favorite fap vidoes.

Difference though I feel like is that those poor fools in South Bend are truly trying to run on name-sake alone.
Well, if they are, they're doing an awful job of it outside of recruiting.
Even in their darkest hours, ND has been able to use their name to land top notch recruits. I'm not willing to accept that the donors aren't so tradition-bound that they aren't dumping obscene amounts of money into the football program and, let's be honest, into the players' pockets.
The fact of the matter is they keep making idiotic coaching hires.

For you, my friend. Biscuit erasing some ten minutes of Steve Beuerlein's fricking life.

I think this is Urbans' dream job...nothing to support it but just a sense.

I heard an interview with Beuerlein not too long ago on local sports talk radio. He claimed that he had not only never been hit that hard before or since, but that he doesn't even remember the hit at all.

No doubt. LSU really doesn't have a history with ND but I was at USAFA in early 80's when ND had that horrible coach and Flacons were beating them. My last year Holtz came in and basically his genius plan was just to run the ball everytime. Cadets looked like a HS team in size compared to them, and granted it was the smart coaching move. But I lost all respect...again I hope they go 0-12 for eternity.

Mid, late 80's I should say....been a bit ago.

Holtz
Proof positive that the sainted Irish don't really care too much for the integrity of the game is that they hired Lou Holtz.
The prosecution rests.

All right, later man.

Sophomore quarterback Tony Rice engineered four long touchdown drives as Notre Dame rushed 69 times for 354 yards. "We felt we were a little bit bigger and a little bit stronger," Notre Dame Coach Lou Holtz said, "and consequently we wanted to try to run the ball on them and control it." Rice went to the air only five times.
I pull for the domers to lose 59 to nothing each and every game.
