I guess I got the short end of the stick but it's seemed like that since I was 16. Had to help out my parents with money several times in the past to the tune of probably 10k total at different points in my life. I've been paid back every time and they are in a much better place. I will say that I had to grow up much faster than some/most my age.

Dude you are hell of a son. Very commendable

I give my mom money pay for her vacations all the time. I think it is because she single parent and sacrificed for me. Whenever I had a home game she was there. But after last Saturday that will change.

That would suck, no doubt. As much as I hate the Army it will be nice to be graduated with a paid for with cash car, and zero school debt.

Very nice. I started to go back to school to do RN in Trauma. Now I decided to do Medical Lab Technician. Working in the lab the past several months has made me change my mind. Once I get my degree in that, I'm applying for a job around Memphis or New Orleans. I want to work in the Trauma labs, instead of the regular labs.

What I do now, I like. I'm a Phlebotomist.

I graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelor's in Journalism. Never would have thought I would go back to school to do something with medical.

Cool, most of our patients have lines or PICCs but we recently acquired our own SiteRite ultrasound machine so all those patients we had before with problematic veins we now can stick under visualization. So much easier and time saving

I have made my mind up after the kid's college funds are met if I ever had the notion to return to school it would be for pathology. No weekends, no holidays, no call = win/win

I'm not on the post 9/11 but for me since I'm only 60% the REAP 1607 is better for me.

With drill I make in a full month of school about $1,500 and that's with my school already paid.

I looked for ied's all of 2010 so yes I feel like I earned it to chill during school. Haven't had to work since I got back. It's very nice.

back on topic. Yay for jack!

Yeah we have a lot of patients up on the unit with lines. I hate dealing with that crap. So much easier to walk in a room grab an arm/hand and stick.

Though I will say, I stuck a guy with HIV the other day, and I don't know what happened, but the next thing I know is I have blood on my arm and scrubs. I went and took a shower immediately. I had to throw my scrubs away too. Those damn things were expensive.
