i didnt think TM7 was 1st round material either.. but damn, i just looked at some 2013 mock drafts (just picked random ones from google) and every one has him in the 1st, some in the top 10..

However, for the purposes of what he brings to a college football team, he is among the elite.
See also Tebow.
Nothing wrong with just being a great college player. I do think he will be able to carve out a decent career as a backup DB/returner though.

go look at a mock draft going into last year spring ball compare it to the current things change my guy devon still was a top 10 a year ago now he is listed as going 2nd to last in round one to belly check

Sure. He's not an elite player. He had one great season where he made some awesome plays and had a lot of things go his way. Kind of like Robert Lester having 8 INT's or whatever it was his sophomore year. But that does not make Robert Lester a great player.
so what seperates them is that Mathieu had 5 forced fumbles as a true freshman who didnt even start full time (most in the SEC), 3 fumble recoveries (1st in SEC), 4.5 sacks, 57 tackles and 2 picks

You can skip to the 15 second mark to find out why.

So to prove HB7 can cover you post pictures of him covering a 5'11'' Florida receiver?
If I remember correctly, Debose torched Kirkpatrick first play of the game. TM7>Debose...Kirkpatrick<Debose

The LSU offseason is now and always was going to be focused on the QB.

Oh look, another Auburn fig who hates that LSU is better than Auburn in every measurable capacity that matters.

They realize he's just another average cover corner.
But an elite defensive playmaker. Best in the country.

Except for most recent national title.

I'm trying to fathom the sequence of events that lead to this "average cornerback" phenomenon.
I think it goes like this.
1. Annoyed by the hype/success.
2. Honey Badger isn't exactly a likable character if you're an opposing fan. I can admit I'd hate him if he didn't wear purple and gold.
3. Sees less than a handful of plays in which #7 gets beaten. (Every fricking corner has these, by the way. Dre Kirkpatrick got his shite eaten up a few times in his time at Alabama, but no one would dare say he's average.)
4. "OMG, he can't cover!" becomes the trendy thing tos ay.
5. Knows it bothers LSU fans.
6. Becomes a cliche flame.
7. Is finally considered certified fact in the world of the internet.
Truly astounding.

They are better at the most recent title? How does that make sense as a statement? Also, he said "that matters".

I've never once been mistaken for a Georgia fan.
Seriously, ask the Georgia fans
