The rich and powerful don't play the same game common folk do....

95% of these type of men have side pieces, but Petrino got caught slipping.

My guess is Arkansas figures that they won't do any better than Petrino, and they keep him. This is a billion dollar BUSINESS, higher education my butt. They won't sink their football program in the name of morality.

They pay the girl off, its always cheaper to settle than litigate, and she goes away. And Petrino finds God or goes to sex rehab like Tiger lol.

I agree, but if we follow the DuBose precedent, CBP is by definition on the hot seat. Now is not the time to go 3-8.

Not trying to flame or be disrespectful but just curious. Do you think that the Arkansas Board of Trustees will let Patrino go like BAMA let Mike Price go? Mike Price did not coach one game at BAMA and Patrino is a proven winner with a team poised to win the SEC WEST/SEC Championship/National Championship this year.

If Arkansas had Auburn's NCAA Compliance Director everything would be just fine. That man deserves a statue unveiled at Auburn's A Day!

Whatever comes out of all of this I can't wait till that hot piece of hog arse posses for Playboy!!

for those defending Petrino:

If you lied to your boss would you be fired?

If you hired someone you were in a relationship would you be fired?

If your contract had an ethics piece in there and you violated it do you not think you would be fired?

Petrino is no different
If you do something wrong ethically or criminally in a A VERY high profile position would you expect to be fired?

I must say that I am astonished that so many hogs seem to be calling for Petrino to be let go. I don't know if you all are just resigning yourselves to the worst possible scenario so when it does not happen you will be pleasantly surprised or what? Or maybe you really do believe in putting the program and its honorability above the coach and this recent act is just one too many examples of Petrino's poor character?

This^

As irrational as the hog fans usually are I'm extremely surprised how they're taking this.

This is an about face of sorts. Its not like Petrino just became a douchebag a couple days ago. I remember when he was acting like a jackass on national tv, yelling frick you across the field and most of you guys thought that was awesome. Or the post-it note departure that y'all tirelessly defended as being a necessary and justified act. Not to mention the scheming he did to throw his former mentor under the bus and take his place at Auburn where he was portrayed as being merely an ambitious person.

So he cheated on his wife with another university employee and then lied about it. Is it just too much now?

I must say that I'm astonished that you're asking.

Do you actually believe or expect that the opinions of anyone other than those who are closest to the situation, having the most information needed in order to make an informed and accurate assessment/decision re: Petrino's character, situation, and future will have much impact on the situation?

If not, then what the frick does it matter what you, I, or anyone else, besides the ones who can make a real decision making impact on the situation, thinks?

I think he's just saying that if the same thing happened at Bama, you'd see the same battle going on in that fan base as in ours.

This except 10x worse. Ark. is in the little leagues with coach worship compared to the Gumps!

Are you nuts? We didn't fire Dubose for his affair until he started losing. The only division our fan base would have is whether to give Saban another motorcycle. Dude can do what he wants except maybe murder somebody. Petrino should have the same discretion.

Finally....one Bama fan that will tell it like it is!

A top sales person in a company would have to do more than that. He or she is probably more important than their boss. Petrino is also more important than his direct boss.

It also depends on how important you are. Clinton had the ultimate employee moment and he made it through. It depends on if the legals costs will be worse than what you generate.

It depends on if they think they can find a suitable replacement. If they wanted me gone, then yes. If they thought he a bad person but we'll lose money by firing him, then no.

Petrino is different. Multi-million dollar employees that generate far more than their salary with a unique talent are always different. You're doing a very important cost analysis before making any move. Legal and PR are all worth money. Wins generate money. Does the legal and PR hit cost you more than possibly being terrible and losing tickets and merchandising for who knows how long. It is a hard one to measure because you don't know if you'll fall off. That being said, if they fire Petrino, then you'd expect a step back because he's a top 5 or 10 coach in college football. He's one of the best so he really isn't "no different," that's why he gets paid "Very different."

How many razorbacks are now seeing the character issues that others have seen from CBP going back at least to when he decided to get on Auburn's plane and do a secret interview?

Remember hearing about his accident. Who would have thiught that all this would have exploded from that incident?

I think almost any coach in that position would have listened to what a former wanted to say.

Who was paying for the jet fuel?

People can blame Arkansas for mandating that he needed to leave Atlanta ASAP. Arthur Blank and his followers just got their feelings hurt because things didn't go their way. Hell, he's the second NFL coach we've hired with 3 games left in the season. Nobody got pissed when we hired Lou Holtz away from the Jets.

Business is business.

This time, Bobby played the devil's hand and lost.

I just gotta say I feel bad for the Arkansas fans who are getting the worst of this whole scandal.

The uncertainty of Petrino's future has got to be grueling.

Hope you guys can shake this awful mistake and get y'alls shite together before the 2012 season.

good luck pigs.

How much of your spring practice is left?

My wife is a Razorback fan and I feel sorry for the entire fan base. I don't like CBP and I hold the Aubbie deal against him more than I do the Falcons leave.
