Insight into Alabama football

I called my mother about 15 minutes before kickoff to share a "ROLL TIDE" with her over the phone. She's 86 years old and a resident in an Assisted Living Nursing Home in Gadsden Alabama. In the background I could hear a big commotion with lots of yelling and cheering. I asked my Mother what the noise was and she said it was a Pep Rally in the TV viewing room. Now keep in mind this is a nursing home filled with people mostly in their 80s and they were all gathered for a Pep Rally cheering and yelling for Alabama to win the BCSNCG. I smiled to myself picturing that scene after I hung up the phone walking back to my seat in the Superdome. I called my mother today and she answered the phone "Roll Tide". It's clear order has been restored and all is right in the universe.

That's a great story; thanks for sharing.
My mom is 90 and lives alone in a house she and my deceased dad built in the early 50s. I call her often, and we never fail to talk about Alabama football. She's usually upset with some of the folks in her Sunday School class that are Auburn fans. That's just the way it is in Alabama.

How is this insight into Alabama football? It's more of an insight to creepy old people. Old people scare me, the idea of a bunch of them meeting to watch football will give me nightmares for weeks, thanks....

Forgive him, he is 61 and obviously belongs in the home with his mother. While not any insight into Alabama football, it is a heartwarming story of love between a mother and her son.

It's old people, just be glad they are paying attention to football instead of doing sh*t like driving.
