This is more like it. From the posts before it seemed like you were arguing TCU would become a national power with their new membership in the Big 12. They can definitely be a middle of the road team in the conference with a big season every now and then.

No, it's you being a normal poster and reading my words and interpreting them however you see fit.

My point is that I don't give a shite how well a program does on the field. I think everyone can agree that no one wants a program in the SEC that has a stadium 25% empty even in a good year.

Vandy and they've played in front of much better programs than TCU at home.

Exactly. But Vandy has been in the conference since the beginning and they do bring other things like baseball and academics. But would we really want another one?

The point is that if all this were going on today, Vandy would not even be considered. So why should TCU?

When you keep comparing the TCU program to the Miami program sometimes things get taken out of context...

Huh.. TCU has never been mentioned to the SEC.

TCU has yet to play in front of Texas, OU and OSU at their stadium. If they don't fill it for those games and have up and down seasons like OSU I'll be surprised.

I know were never mentioned as a legit option. But my point remains. It seems to have gone over your head.

We know as much about who was in talks with the Big12 as much as we do with what 50 programs Jeff Long (Ark AD) spoke to about Dallas.

What portion went over my head?

I'm just not sure you even know what you're arguing anymore. I never was sure to be honest.

My only point in this thread was/is that TCU does not and never will have the ability to fill a big boy stadium or sell merch with the big boys. They may win a NC some day, but that doesn't change any of the other stuff. That's fine, but it is what it is.

Why does it matter if Boise State and TCU only fills up 40,000 for games yet draw big TV ratings?

TCU was a good addition to the Big12 along with WVU. Those 2 additions alone has made the Big12 conference stay around a long while now. If BYU (Only other school with their own TV deal outside of Texas and ND) came on board it would be even better.

You can't honestly tell me TCU hasn't been a better team than TAMU the past 5 years?

Holy shite. I am NOT talking about ANYTHING other than their fan base and the crowds they bring. So stop bringing anything else up to me.

People only care because they're a novelty. The Cinderella story. Once they're no longer a Cinderella, they're just a decent team with no real fan base.

Plus, regarding Boise, they almost always play on Thursdays. Of course they get good ratings.

I've been pointing out the fan base is there and will fill the stadium at 45,000 now the play Texas, OU and OSU.

With that being said it has nothing to do with their success in the Big12 which should be equal to or greater than OSU.

Every conference would love to have more of those. $$$.

No they wouldn't. Not when the success stops and the program dies off. That's not how you build a stable conference.

It's clear that the issue in this thread is that you just have a fundamental lack of understanding of the whole conference expansion thing.

Who would you rather play for?

At TCU you get to play Texas, OU, OSU and WVU every single year.

or

At TAMU you get to play against LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Arkansas every year.

The point is the Big12 did a good job replacing TAMU and Mizzou.

Why will the TCU die off and Oklahoma State stay strong?

I'd rather play for TCU. But that has absolutely zero to do with my point, or conference expansion.

I don't know. You tell me. Then tell me where I mentioned OSU.
