I kept saying over and over and over during the game bama needs to throw on first down. That is when they are at their best. The quick out to Maze is very very tough to stop before he gets 4-5 yards. Then screens to Trent. Or check downs to the tight end. Point is bama was extremely predictable on first down and needed to attempt more passes on first.

Even bama players said the game plan was to run right at LSU, hit em in the mouth and wear em down.

That is stupid on an epic level. It shows not only stupidity, but blind arrogance, especially when it became obvious early it would not work. I said in the first quarter LSU's Dline was winning the battle. They knocked bama olinemen into the backfield all night. Yet incredibly bama just kept on keeping on thinking something would change. That was dumb. LSU was not going to wear down after 6 quarters. LSU's Dline is too damn deep.

What game did you watch?

Alabama had 7 drives of 30 yards or more. It's not like LSU was dominating them. The issue, was that LSU made TIMELY plays.

Conversely, LSU only engineered ONE scoring drive in regulation.

I don't know how you watched that game and thought bama wasn't a threat to score.

Your hatred of Alabama is showing. What more was Alabama suppose to do? It was 9-6 for Christ's sake. When special teams are a massive advantage for one team over another in a close game, it usually ends this way.

No, your simplemindedness and lack of capacity for thought and analysis coupled with blind faith in a coach that is not a great gameday coach is showing.

What I just said, I started saying in the 1st Q last night. Bama stuck with a stupid gameplan. They deserved to lose.

Did you watch the game??? It was very evident that Bama would not score a TD that game. On the flip it was evident LSU wouldn't... not until OT when Bama's D was just flat out tired.

Its the old WVU fan theory, look at how many yards we have.

Bama also has a kicker that missed 4 field goals. Wonder what people would be saying had we made just ONE of those. Wouldn't have even been overtime. Provided the rest of the game would have played out the way it did. Congrats to LSU.

Wonder what people would be saying if Jefferson threw it to the wide arse open Shepard 1 second earlier and he walked into the endzone? Or if Randle caught the TD pass on his fingertips? Or if JJ would have just ran the ball around end from the 2 yard line instead of trying to pass? Or if Ford didn't step on the chalk at the 7 with no bama player close to him?

But, hey, only Bama missed opportunities. LSU played a pefect game, its best game ever and Bama played its worst and still should have won. Bama also was playing on the road and has a much younger team than LSU. Bama fans are also not whining and crying today looking for the 2011 Moral Victory National Title. Congrats.

I realize that, but it's not like it's unheard of for a kicker to make a 40 yd field goal. I don't think it's irrational for Alabama fans to be disappointed in their kicker? I'd assume he's disappointed in himself. And just for shits and giggles Alabama had 7 opportunities to score points. Only capitalized on 2. LSU went 3/3. It is what it is.

Bama never even reached the 20 yard line.

How are you some great threat to get a TD if you play 4 quarters and overtime (even starting at the 25) and NEVER reach the red zone a single damn time.

That is almost impossible to do, yet bama did it.

Like I said, no threat to score a td all night.

wow. don't think i've ever read so many back-handed compliments in one thread. i'll play.

how can you say that bama's d is better? do you think bama's d is what caused the interceptions? no. they were poor reads by our qb. your d was exposed as having a weakness covering speed to the outside. the plays made by reid, claiborne, and the d-line were truly impressive. i don't think tr has been tackled by one person as often as he was in this game. tr is a beast btw.

i think lsu fans expected to win the game despite what vegas thought. if you have been on the board over the past 2 weeks you would know this. hence, acting subdued and not talking smack after the game. we have been there before--actually i believe it was a year ago. i don't think lsu fans thought they were "lucky as hell to win" as you put it.

bama has a great team and we are very evenly matched. i don't think you'd find an lsu fan that would think we'd beat bama 10 out of 10 times but i do give lsu the edge in the intangibles that this team has (to go along with a badass d and special teams).

Typical flaming from you. When all else fails, attack poster with personal insults. I mean, why don't we just hire you as an offensive consultant?

When did I ever insinuate or say that? You just like to twist words and troll. You really should get a fricking life. I don't know how many times I've said congrats to LSU. I am pleased with how the game went. It was fricking epic. Yes I wish Alabama would have won, god forbid I'm an Alabama fan.

I am right in my analysis. Bama had a piss poor gameplan.

Bama's game plan was to run right at LSU and wear them down.

1. That is stupid to begin with.

2. Even worse it was extremely obvious very early it would not work when LSU's dline started blowing shite up in the backfield for negative runs. Yet someone for bama failed to adjust, so bama lost. I really believe if bama had started throwing on first down they would have won the game.

shite happens, but I'm sure field position, because of referenced special teams, had nothing to do with it.

How is Alabama the better team? And for those who think LSU got lucky because of the missed field goals, you are underestimating Les.

One FG was blocked and a couple shouldn't have even been attempted. But say they made one more in the first half, you think Les might have gone for it the last play of the second quarter instead of kicking a FG?

And if they made another one, you think Les wouldn't have gone for it in OT? LSU still would've won because they are the BETTER team. Book it.

Who knows? All I know is, that aside from special teams, there's not much difference in the two teams. Unfortunately for Alabama, special teams is a third of the game.

just saying congrats doesn't excuse all the whiny backhanded slaps you follow the congrats up with.

Its your own scared coach's fault for continuously going for 45+ yard field goals with some goon who just does bicep curls all day. Saban's always puckered his a-hole real tight in big games. Last night was no revelation.

Post game summary:

9-6 LSU wins. LSU has a better D-line and better o-line. Only time I was worried was 3rd and long because of that damned screen play. Never felt like TR was going to take over the game in the Bama ground attack. Great game plan by Saban against Lee, not so good against Jefferswag. If there had been 5th quarter instead of what we have in CFB, LSU pulls away.

Oh, and penalties killed both teams and Bama's kicking game is pretty much crap. Hence, LSU is the better team. I'd take a rematch next weekend in Tiger Stadium in a heartbeat.

FACT: Go to the stats and see how many net rushing yards Alabama had inside the 30 yd line. You'll find that it is a negative number.

OPINION: This whole thread is stupid. A Gump comes on claiming Alabama is better than LSU when the game was played on their field in front of their 100K crowd, and they couldn't score a TD. I think this Gump is an Alabama version of the Iraqi Minister of Information claiming that the "Americans are not here!" Reasoning based on rejecting facts is insanity. Ergo, "I don't care if you scored more points than we did, we still have a better team." Now, That thar is funny!!!! Go cry in your grits, Gumps. You earned it.

Field position? For real. Your coach was kicking 50 yarders. He could have flipped position.

We reached deeper into Bama territory than vice versa. Y'all had no rhythm, no real running threat, and no plan.

Y'all got out hustled, played, coached and scored. Give credit where it s due. Or don't, but just shut up.
