You are so butthurt it's not even funny. When I come at you with stats from those years and links from unbiased sources you don't even take into account.Everyone has different opinions so therefore you think Cam, but my argument stands out based on facts not perception.

Cam Newton is the best college football player i've seen
Lolz,Barry Sanders while one of the all time greats didn't run roughshot through sec defenses......
He averaged 240 rushing yards a game. Didnt do it against the SEC is a lame excuse. He didn't play against D2.

somebody wants to sit on timmys face.
And the fact of the matter is you are a florida fan, so you are going to say tebow. Auburn is going to say bo/cam. Georgia says hershel, etc. It is all going to depend on who you ask

Cam was better than VY.
National Championship: VY 30/40 267 yards passing 19/200 3 touchdowns rushing, 0 turnovers total.
Cam 20/34 265 yards passing 2 touchdowns 1 pick 22/64/0 rushing 1 fumble, 2 turnovers total
Also, VY's was against a USC team that ESPN was proclaiming the best ever in the month leading up to the game.

Our pass defense is what put us in holes. Someone bring up Florida's 07 defense and Auburns defensive rankings.

Give me tebow. Cam would never survive 4 years as a QB in the SEC. Tebow barely did.

What the frick am I butthurt about? That Cam was better than Tebow?
Posted on 7/23/11 at 8:23 pm to JJ27
So you choose one game to decide who is better? not to mention Cam was hurt for part of the NC game.

Cam is still amazing but that game against USC on the biggest stage was unreal. And that was a damn good defense he shredded.

Tebow and since he had a whole career and Newton only had one season here are stats from the Heisman seasons.
This compares stats during their Heisman season.
Touchdown Totals
Cam Newton in 13 games put up 28 passing TDs, 20 rushing TDs and 1 receiving TD for a total of 49 touchdowns plus his two in the championship game gave him 51 in 14 games.
Tim Tebow in 12 games put up 32 passing TDs, 23 rushing TDs for a total of 55 touchdowns
Total Yards
Cam Newton: 307.5 yards/game
Tim Tebow: 321.6 yards/game
Passing Yards
Cam Newton: 2589 total passing yards or 199.2 yards/game
Tim Tebow: 3286 total passing yards or 252.8 yards/game

I'd put Zachery over Burns, but both were 4 stars so I guess it doesn't matter

Potential is not apart of this argument. We don't know what Cam would have done with 4 years like Tebow did because he didn't play 4 years, he had 1.
I'll give you an example.....
Tee Martin had a great 1998 season and won the NC, but does that make him better than Peyton Manning?

If you're going to compare Heisman years, make sure you include Cam winning a NC...

Didn't Florida go to the Cap One bowl during Tebows heisman season?

I strongly dislike Cam Newton, I think he is a coddled POS who acted like an entitled a**hole at multiple locations. I respect the hell out of Tim Tebow and understand why Gator fans would back their boy all day. That being said, I have never seen anything like last year. I don't want to imagine 3 years of this guy on or off the field. Of course body of work it's sti,l a two horse race to me Tebow and Herschel, with a slight nod to that dirty dawg...he was the damndest thing I've seen.
Posted on 7/23/11 at 8:27 pm to jtclassof2002
you are wasting your time, they don't care about the stats in this argument.

No That Tebow is better than Cam and I backed up my statements with facts.

Alot closer than you think.

He should have put the rushing stats up, that is why Cam is more dominant and most people would pick him over Tebow. I think Cam is a better overall passer but he can run past/over anybody in college.
