And here we are coming off a shitty season with a shitty coach and we manage a damn good class on par with the old mighty Bama.
Hopefully the next coach we have will utilize it.

I have said at least twice, and once was bolded, what my point was. If you still can't follow along with it then I'm not going to respond to you anymore.
Well I don't like the way you made your high and mighty point. You implied that high school kids have seen that UGA has had more SEC championships than Bama during their lifetime.
Well, that's wrong. Bama had an SEC championship in 1999 and 2009, both within the kids' lifetimes, if they were born in 1992. Georgia has had only 2 also during the same time, 02 and 05.
You said.....
quote:
High school kids were just born when bama won a title up until their one in '09. High school juniors that year had seen bama win all of 1 SEC title in their lives.
Wrong. Alabama won an SEC championship in 1999 and 2009. That's 2 not counting the 1992 title.
quote:
High school kids right now have seen Georgia win multiple SEC titles and BCS bowls in their lives.
Georgia has only won 2 SEC championships, the same as Alabama (not counting 1992).
BCS bowls since 1992 (the year the highschool kids were born):
Georgia - 3 BCS bowls (Sugar 02 won, 05 lost, and 07 won)
Alabama - 3 BCS bowls (Orange 99 lost, Sugar 08 lost, and Rose 09 won National Championship)
So, as far as I can see, both won 2 SEC championships and Georgia won a total of one more BCS bowl, but Alabama won the National Championship.... all during these highschool kids' lifetimes (not counting 1992 the year they were born).
quote:That's fine with me.
I'm not going to respond to you anymore.

i saw this a couple days ago and was gonna post it but i realized it probably wouldn't end well in our favor. thats why i read none of the responses
i don't feel like reading it either. hey UGA fans, are we in a pissing contest?

wouldn't richt have an over-signing problem if he didn't lose so many players to arrest?

All the Bammers chiming in on how no one knows who is actually on schollie is what really makes me burn. The true advantage for Bama's numbers hanky panky lies there.
I have always wondered how they managed to finagle the Bryant Scholarship into legality, considering it is open to only progeny of football players so not technically a college-wide opportunity. So a player can't make it to school on a baseball scholarship and play football, but because he is the son of a football player, well, then THAT scholarship doesn't count against the 85 limit, no sirree.
Not to mention, having players having their scholarships non-renewed and thus being a "walk-on" or starting out as a grayshirt just begs for some detail-oriented auditing to be done concerning where those tuition checks are coming from. It opens the door for some real underhanded advantages right there.
Personally, I think the best rule the NCAA can pass is that once a scholarship is given to a player at a school, he has to remain on scholarship at that school or transfer.
Someone was asking for an example of some kid getting screwed. I seem to recall a player committing to Bama this past year only to be told within a month of signing day, he could grayshirt or go somewhere else. He ended up signing with Kentucky I believe. Obviously, the kid had time to adjust, but still that is pretty shitty.
And while Richt is no choir boy I don't recall any commitments being accepted and then turned away unless the player himself did something detrimental during his last year after commitment.

i was informed once here but we actually did that to a kid at carver a couple years ago and they got all pissy with us and banned UGA for a while. guess they don't care now
and richt is only bitching about it because it's his one thing he has.

This is reported to the NCAA. No way around it.

Which school has given out more SEC & NC rings than Alabama?
Two NCs in the last 32 years is not typical.
We have 4 NCs in the past 32 years ('78,'79,'92,'09)

Why is over signing bad again? As long as the the following things are true, there are ZERO problems w/ over signing IMHO.
1) Coach doesn't make any promises to these kids about starting.
2) Coach tells them that they have to earn their spot on the team & their scholarship EVERY year.
3) The choice is left up to the kid to commit.
Fact is all 3 of the above are true at Alabama... these kids have a choice, and these kids know what kind of competition they are going up against at the position in which they are competing for. If they wanted to start on day 1, go to Kentucky or Vandy. These kids want to start on a championship caliber team, so they are willing to take the chance at Alabama, and compete w/ other talented players for their position. If these kids do not make it at BAMA, I'm sure they could pick up another scholly at another school... it's not like these kids are kicked into the streets.
You can probably insert LSU, UF, and some other top programs in there as well.. this doesn't just apply to BAMA.
