everyone has been jumping on the Alabama/Saban oversigning myth
Umm, is it really a myth, or just not illegal? I don't think of it as a myth, but the fact is it isn't against the rules, and until they rewrite the rules more power to him.

Do you work in the Alabama Athletic Department? How do you know that Alabama has that many on scholarship? How many are walk-ons and paying their own way? How many are on the Bryant Scholarship?
Come on, break it down.

It's a back-handed slap at Coach Saban for recruiting and getting kids out of Georgia.
First of all, we cleaned the frick up in Georgia last year. We went head to head with bama for many prospects last year and got a good damn bit of them.
Second, even if what I quoted is true (which is certainly an assumption on your part), that doesn't mean Richt is blaming our failures on Saban's recruiting. You and hunter are reeeeeallly reaching on that point.

Does Richt know what the frick to do with them? That seat will be screamingly white hot if he doesn't.

Really? As a matter of fact all of those are on football scholarships. People its not that hard to find out, just do a little research.

statement coming from a LOSING COACH...if his was winning games, he wouldn't have a problem getting more than his share of new recruits..who wants to go to Georgia?...
Posted on 5/17/11 at 7:29 pm to jatebe
I think you're looking too much into my post, my point was that it didn't matter if he was over-signing, it isn't against the rules. I don't keep tabs on actual numbers as far as seats available in any given year, so those numbers mean nothing to me. I was actually defending Saban.

In the right here and now? I don't know, nobody does. That remains to be seen. He doesn't have amnesia, and he has obviously shown to be a fantastic coach at one point (he's the best coach we've had in our history), but he's clearly hit a downslide.
And please don't think I'm the ultimate Richt supporter saying he should be here until he dies. If we don't win 10 games or the east I want him gone.

So its LSU'S fault that our players are GOOD enough to go pro before they graduate....THIS JUST PROVES STATISTICS DON'T TELL EVEYTHING...

Can you do us a little favor and give us a link? If the Bham News can't use the Alabama Open Records law to get them...I would be interested to see where you got them.

That question makes just as much sense as the 'who wants to go to Georgia' question.
