I agree with you but unfortunately college football has become about money and bowl games are really about money. They will try to choose a team that will travel well and spend a lot of money in their city. It's pathetic but money is what runs everything in this country.
While you are correct, you are also crazy if you don't think State will bring a shite-load of people.
They will most definitely sell out their allotment so your point is moot.

From all indications, if Auburn holds on to win, it will be Tennessee vs Michigan in the Gator Bowl. Is it necessarly fair? No. But Tennessee has a national brand and carries ALOT more weight than Mississippi State does. Bowls are all about money, and UT-UM is a cash cow.

What the FRICK does this have to do with the young men on Mississippi State's football team who busted their arse and had a great season???
We beat Auburn and had the same record last year.
They bought their way into the Outback and we were stuck with the Liberty bowl.
You get no sympathy from me...

LSU losing the SECCG in 2005 to Georgia with a 10-2 record goes to the Chick Fila bowl. That was the greatest screwing of all SEC History. Get in line
The 2003 Tennessee team disagrees. The Vols were 10-2 and ranked #7 in the BCS rankings, one spot away from an automatic at large bid. There was a 3-way tie for the East, and the Citrus took UGA, the Outback Bowl took a 9-3 UF team, and the Cotton took Ole Miss, thus sending a top ten team to the Peach Bowl...

It is no disrespect to MSU, it's simply the truth.

Lighten up. It was a joke.
This stuff happens every year. The Gator Bowl is hedging a bet that in this scenario, UT will bring more fans and spend more money. History shows that UT brings fans and spend money.
You should probably blame your AD if this goes down.

Come on guys, this is the first time ever a team is "being screwed" in bowl selections and it is happening to a Ms. State team that has a once in a decade season...

In fairness, we were completely not enthused about being there. We should have been in the Orange Bowl.

Last I heard, Tennessee fans were utterly disappointed in a 6-6 season. Do you really think the fans will be going crazy to grab Gator Bowl tickets???
Mississippi State will pull its load wherever we go. Our fans are hungry to go to a bowl game and we support our bulldogs. Just Ole Miss about the 18K Mississippi State fans that were at the Egg Bowl last Sat.

MS State would get a better bowl, but the bowl officials don't want to have to listen to those annoying cowbells the entire game.
Then why did they already say they would welcome the cowbells? idiot

This. It's not just how many people you can bring to Jacksonville; it's also how many people will watch on TV.

If anyone's getting screwed in bowl selections it's Georgia. Last year, we had the same record SEC record as UTK, and a better record than AU and we're the ones who ended up in Shreveport. We have the same record as UTK again this year, although we're technically ahead of them in the East, and we're going to Memphis.
Nothing like tailgating in Orange Mound.

Are you kidding me? The season outlook was dismal and UT was sitting at 2-6 going into December. Sure you would like to have a better record, but considering the circumstances, people were estatic to get to 6-6. Tickets will get gobbled up in a heartbeat.
