Actually, he just said the report wasn't accurate. That doesn't mean that Cam didn't cheat at UF, just that the report by Thayer Evans was not accurate. IMO, Cam cheated at UF, based on his and Cecil's reaction to that story, but that Cam was not referred through the normal channels at UF and he was not facing expulsion. Again, that is JMO.

Gotcha. It was kinda hard to tell exactly what he was saying with all those "suggestions" he threw out there.

The reporter didn't ask if Cecil asked for money. WTF? Did I miss something?

Also, that attorney answered questions normally then when asked if Cecil had been truthful with the NCAA the attorney throws in the weird "I would suggest..." I'm not saying he's lying but it defo highlites that answer.

His answers on Cam and the mom are normal. Not a great attorney.

Edit: Watched again. The reporter sucks balls and the attorney calls attention to certain answers being evasive with his choice of words.

Do you think it will stick? I think it is the smart thing to do, but I don't think it is believable. The fact that Cam has already stated his dad decided where he was going to college makes it sound like they have a pretty tight relationship.

I have no idea about precedents with the NCAA. It seems they have a magic 8 ball when it comes to eligibility issues, ask the question, wait for the little triangle with the answer to float up, then notify the university of their decision.

Personally I don't like it. While attorneys can say it is clear I just don't like it. The big problem I have with this entire mess is when we are cleared of everything the national perception is that since we are SEC we were cheating it was just covered up. I'm not kidding I had an OSU fan tell me this.

Start a thread about it. I guarantee you no less than 20 pages.

That was a canned interview replete with question restrictions IMO.
Again, if it was, then that was horrible.

Thus the term "painfully obvious". BTW Shlabach was listening to it with Finescum and they agreed with my opinion. Scary to agree with those two but, oh well...

Na, I'm not an attention whore and I don't think he was giving an affirmative answer but I bet if you read a transcript of that conversation it would look like he admitted to Cam taking money.

I may shock you here; I think he did fairly well in the interview and frankly if the Newton's are not guilty of anything they need to come out and make a difinitive statement.

SOMEBODY (maybe a lot of somebodies) is lying and we needs to knows who it be.

I'd suggest that nothing has changed since a few nanoseconds prior to said attorney being accosted in the parking lot.

Of course Cam and his family did not take any money ... now Cecil's "church" is another question.

just saw this on ESPN after reading about it earlier. After listening to that attorney, there is No doubt in my mind that Cecil pimped his son and the AU defense is going to try and be Cam knew nothing about it. When asked about taking money he specifically said Cam didn't. He then "suggested" that the Newton family was truthful to NCAA. This guy was being very selective with his comments and if I were an AU fan this interview would scare me more than it would put me at ease.
