Raise your hand if you're old enough to remember the first time Ole Miss was ever ranked in the top 25 of the AP poll. (January 1997)

I will actually raise my hand to say I was at the Tad Pad when Ole Miss beat Kentucky in Jan of 1997 to put them in the top 25. Coach Rob Evans had some really good teams at Ole Miss back in the late 90's with Keith Carter, Ansu Seasay, Jason Smith, Joezon Darby, Anthony Boone, etc...

It was 2001 When they had the Provine Posse (David Sanders, Aaron Harper, and Justin Reed) along with Rahim Lockhart. They made the sweet 16 that year.

LSU rotates playing the in-state schools (La. Tech, ULL, Tulane, etc). WHy is it a big deal for Ole Miss and State to do the same. It would be a better game than SE La. The fact is MSU and Ole Miss should win those games due to: being in the SEC, bigger budget, etc. Just like Bama playing USM all those years it came down to if you win you are supposed to, but if you lose= ruined season. By the way on opening day NFL rosters this year Ole Miss-17 and USM-14. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!

Ansu Sesay

Sesay was the best player Ole Miss has had in the past 20 or so years. He played in the NBA for a few years.

Give me a break. You only started scheduling ULL and La Tech a few years ago and you dropped Tulane for ten years and have recently dropped them again.

If La Tech ever became a truly viable program, you would drop them like a hot potato. In fact, I suspect you will drop them soon, anyway, after they threw a scare into you this year.

When Ole Miss started scheduling USM back in the 60's, nobody else would. We gave them viability by doing so and if you continue to schedule La Tech on an annual basis, that will eventually happen with them, too, but I am sure you won't for the same reasons that Bama and Auburn won't schedule Troy or UAB and Arkansas won't schedule Arkansas State.

The only reason you all want Ole Miss to schedule USM is the same reason you want MSU to remain in the SEC--because the more in-state problems Ole Miss has, the easier it is to keep us down and the less competition you have.....

Do you think we are all so stupid that we don't realize that?

LSU wouldn't be half as competitive as Ole Miss/MSU/USM are if they had 3 legit schools in their state.

Just sayin'

thank you. ive been saying this forever! not about lsu but about other schools as well about bagging on our program for "not having a big stadium" or not being competitive in football! i mean there are three major schools to choose from for kids in our state

FAIL.

AU played UAB in the late 90's and will play Samford and JSU in the near future. Get yo facts straight.

Troy, UAB, Arkansas State, Tulane, LA-Monroe/Laf are not the same as having another SEC team in your state plus one of the top C-USA teams.

Yeah, one or two times and then they stopped.

I wonder why.....

Jealous hatred creates real problems and can get out of hand.....

USM's hatred (or anyone's for that matter) of Ole Miss has nothing to do with jealousy.

Why would USM want to be like Ole Miss? Honestly, what is there to be jealous of? All those conference and national championships you have? Please.

As a Southern Miss graduate, I look at teams like TCU, South Florida, Cincinnati, Boise State and THOSE are the teams I am jealous of. Those are the teams I wish we could emulate. Teams in non-BCS conferences (Cincy used to be in CUSA) like ours that have found success and national recognition despite their size and situation. Ole Miss is an underacheiver in their conference. Why would we be jealous of that?

I guess Ole Miss feels more comfortable scheduling Northern Arizona, UAB, Southeastern Louisiana and the Powerhouse that is MEMPHIS.

wow....You DO realize that MSU is picking up Memphis after we dropped them, right?

And how about scheduling those powerhouse teams like JSU and Alcorn State.

Glass was a great one, he played for one of my Dad's old coaches in Ed Murphy. If Glass would have been at Ole Miss all 4 years he would have may have been Ole Miss' all time leading scorer.
