the NCAA did not ignore South Carolina's defense.
They are ranked 28th but Florida is 1st, Bama is 2nd, LSU is 8th and Ole Miss is 14th.
Florida gave up 9.82 ppg, Bama 9.91 ppg, LSU 14.73 & Ole Miss 16.55 ppg.
South Carolina gave up over 20 ppg. That's nearly another touchdown more per game than LSU is giving up so I didn't include them. LINK
That's fine. I just remember hearing they had the 3rd best passing defense in the country prior to our game.

I never said it wouldn't be demanding or that you can't throw the football. I just said you don't throw it well against good defenses. I gues I should have said top 10 or top 15 defenses.
The OP said Mallet will throw around four td passes. That is double what he did against the thre "top 15" defenses he has faced. That will not happen.
Those are the 1st, and only, 3 road games Mallett has played in the SEC. I don't know how many young QB's have played very well, against the caliber of those teams, in those circumstances. That's what worries me about this game. Mallett's numbers SHOULD have been a lot better in all 3 of those games, but he had some receivers drop some balls that they haven't dropped in any other games this year. I tend to think that the struggles on the road are just one of the byproducts of having to play so many young guys.
Yeah, I don't think Mallett is going to put up 4 td's and 400 yards on LSU. MAYBE he'd do that if the OL could give him some protection. But I just don't see that against LSU. He very well could be 10-25, 180 yards, and 1 TD. But he's also on a pretty good streak right now. So he could surprise some folks.

I didn't notice those were road games. It sucks that your games against better defenses are all on the road.
I think it will be another close one!

You are either a bald faced liar with those stats or a complete retard. You pick.

3, not counting that one.
So you don't want to count that one. It took three posts before you admitted it was a big play. You going to whine they aren't big plays like you did on the TD catch?

The kid LSU better contain is Dennis Johnson.
If you don't, Mallett is going to go off big time. Fire Les big time.

Mallett is going to go off big time
1. He has time
2. He stops aiming the ball and allows his talent to work
...it_can_get_ugly
I hope he stays in college for a couple of years and develops foot speed to help buy time when he needs it. The kid is the real deal.

Sorry pig lovers, it ain't happening!
Here is the PROBLEM with your argument:
SACKS BY G No. Yards
1. Florida 11 31 191
2. Ole Miss 11 30 226
3. Alabama 11 28 219
10. LSU 11 17 110
The other teams did not let Mallett set his feet and throw. If you don't get to him he will pick you apart.

LSU is also extremely poor defending 3rd downs. 10th in the SEC.

well I'm pretty sure he could get drafted this year if he really wanted to go, but aside from that, as long as you guys don't throw in that area, you should do pretty well passing.

How many times did Mallet throw to PP?
Posted on 11/28/09 at 10:30 pm to bwallcubfan
I missed that. I think I missed every game this weekend on predictions.. lol

I had to listen to the game for the 1st half, but I watched the 2nd half, and it seemed like he never even looked PP's way most of the time.

I recall one pass in his direction and it was after 7 seconds of protection, with the receiver coming back to help him out. Could have been completed but receiver failed to catch.
LSU only had 2/3rds of the field to cover Saturday night, often rushed only 3, gave Mallet tons of time, and still managed to pull out the win.
I, too, thought LSU would show up flat and were more likely to lose by more than a TD than win by more than a TD. But, betting against PP has only a slightly better chance of success than that of arrakis posting something postive that doesn't include Alabama.
Not only is he the best athlete on the field, he is our most reliable tackler, too. You have to be one miserable person to even begin to waste your time trying to quantify this kid's mistakes on the football field.
That McCluster pass was set up perfectly and called at the right time. That doesn't absolve PP from fault, but he gets a pass from me, and I personally don't know many more critical than me when it comes to assignment mistakes.
I don't remember much talk of PP's shortcomings until his cramps resulted in JJ's 2 yard pass for a 77 yard TD, and his missed INT tainted Bama's win.

I can see Mallet throwing for over 300 in this game and putting up about 4 td's on Lsu's secondary. I don't think the players have confidence in Miles anymore and you'll see it in this game. Arky wins going away 38-17.
You definitely don't have the gift of prophecy.
Mallet threw for 227 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
While your were reasonably close on Arkansas' score, you were more than slightly off on LSU's total points.
By the way, JJ threw for 179 yards, 68% completions, 2 TDs and 1 INT.
Certainly Mallet is the better QB overall, but he wasn't in this game.
