You can't opt out during the season, so...?

if i'm a head coach or NIL collective or whatever, i don't put this type of stipulation in the contracts. instant recruiting advantage.

As an OU fan, if the Sooners are NOT in a CFP game, I still get excited because it’s a chance to win something to end on a high note. A bowl win used to mean something big. Perhaps the abundance of bowls has made the bowl experience lose its luster but to me as a fan it still has meaning.

Our entire team mentally checked out toward the end of last year. Especially the offense. It was obvious.

The article linked below is from Outkick. The crux of it is this quote from Ross Dellinger:
Oh so literally fake news? Got it

I expect to see many phantom injuries prior to meaningless bowl games

Yes, I'm sure players who are hoping to transfer or go pro will absolutely be willing to sandbag their in-game performance to their own detriment out of spite.

And this will get the ball rolling on a college football players union.
Can't wait until the strike season while new terms of a CBA are agreed to.

I mean they can also hit the transfer portal the minute they see a stipulation like that and play for someone else who doesnt require it. If a players good enough there's always somebody else willing to put up with their demands.

NY6 Bowls matter? If you aren’t in the playoff the game doesn’t matter

There are ways to take it even further than just forcing them to play…like going after NIL $ if are healthy and do not play

We, traditionally, have very few opt outs. Why don't Auburn players want to win the game for Auburn?

frick those quitters. Sitting on the sidelines while their teammates put it on the line for a bowl game that goes into the record books.

Seems like this would almost guarantee players associations and player representatives if we’re talking contracts? Happy to be wrong.

I mean that’s between the players and their sponsors.
if thr NCAA just pays the players that’s not really NIL anymore
I also don’t see many labor agreement contracts where you lose all/most your money for not performing 1/13th your obligations.
Would be a terrible negotiation for players.
