She didn’t say it was a mistake. She said she doesn’t plan around it. You just can’t read.

It shouldn't be, and that goes for every team. Not picking on LSU. My son plays bball for a mid-major and every single game both teams are on the floor for the anthem.
Sure you are. That's the reason for the whole story.. And not a story about the other 5 schools in the elite 8 who did the same. Or the football teams across the country who don't. Or any other sport.
Just to show you how this works with Kim. When asked, she stated that she agreed with Iowa's coach that this should have been a final 4 matchup. She agreed... The headline was "Kim Mulkey has a problem with the seeding"
But I get it. Other coaches loved Nikki V.. Because she didn't threaten anyone. She won 9 games her last year here... Total. It took Kim 2 years to turn THAT dumpster fire into a national Champion.

Did the Governor of LA know that most teams are in the locker room getting last-minute prep before he threatens his state University? This sounds like another impetuous politician from the Bayou who decided to tell the world how things are when he doesn't know how things are. Good chance the gov grew up idolizing Huey "The Kingfish" Long.

As a matter of fact, no SEC team LSUWBB played at home was on the court for the national anthem this season. That includes A&M and Alabama.

I was the PA announcer for LSU Women’s Basketball from 2015-2021. And announced other women’s sports at LSU from my senior year in 2010 through 2021 when I moved to Florida. I announced hundreds of games in various sports throughout that 11 year span.
First and foremost, I can tell you that the LSU Women’s basketball team did not “leave” or “walk off” because of the national anthem.
Like many teams, their warm-up drills & timing for pregame are predetermined and arranged by the onsite game officials and mainly the show runners for the networks.
In many instances, one or BOTH teams will be in locker room when the anthem plays and will then run out after the anthem. A lot of times, that has to do with who is being introduced second by the announcer in the arena. This narrative that LSU dodged the anthem is completely false. If anyone thinks Mulkey would allow that, they’re nuts.
(Last year, at the national championship game in Dallas, neither LSU or Iowa was on the court for the anthem)… As was the case with the other elite eight game on Monday night between USC vs. UConn.
The video of the National Anthem simply featuring Iowa’s team was originally posted by a little known “reporter” for a questionably reputable media organization called “Outkick”. Outkick repeatedly posted less than professional comments about LSU throughout the game.
(See screenshots in comments)
Once this video was picked up by fans, the narrative that LSU dodged the national anthem spread like wildfire to reinforce a lot of people’s dislike of Kim Mulkey, Angel Reese, and LSU. Once the video spread and went viral, larger media organizations picked it up without ever looking into the procedures of how pre-game operations truly work.
The national narrative that LSU conducted an Anthem Protest is a complete drummed up lie.
You can dislike LSU for their swagger/villian mentality, or for the supposed controversies surrounding Kim Mulkey…But LSU did NOT exercise an Anthem Protest.

You don't know shite about frick.
Huey Long already would have put himself in between LSU and media.

You are calling Mulkey “Woke”??? She’s anything but woke. You need to study the definition of woke and review her past. Polar opposites.
She is an independent thinker, I will say that. Kim does what Kim wants to do and she’s does not care what the media or fans think.
Try posting an educated thought next time, elephant brain.

A few of the other teams did this too, but no let’s just single out LSU! Par for the course They have nothing against the anthem…
LSU is currently one of the most watched teams in women's basketball. Of course people are not paying attention to teams less relevant, dumb arse.

Is your football team on the field for the national anthem?

I didn't read it as him saying Mulkey was woke. It appeared he was saying the team was woke and that Mulkey tries to cover it up. Mulkey will put winning and the team getting along above her personal beliefs.

Should be a technical for any team not out standing for the anthem.
