Okay, if you had 32 "AAA minor league" football teams, each one tied to one of the 32 NFL teams, and you have 53 man rosters for them all (18 to 21 year olds only), you have employed 1,696 football players, many of whom have zero business being in college at that point in their lives.
1,700 kids making money as pro's, not counting injured reserve and a few practice squad guys
How many college players entered the portal this year? One thousand? Two thousand?
A legit NFL minor league would solve much of this problem.
But then I guess, I don't know, you've got Disney and the networks declaring war on that concept because the minor league crap TV ratings would be such a bad tradeoff to those players starring in the 12 team playoff...

This dude on the UGA rivals board posted this in early December.
I have a tough time believing this.
A. Some random guy on a message board.
B. ESPN couldn't keep this quiet if it were true.
C. Saban wouldn't have inked a contract while he was preparing for a playoff game. Think about that for a minute. Contract negotiations while preparing to face the #1 team in the country? Saban? That just didn't happen.

guarantee some sports writers are reading all this, and will steal ideas from here and pass those ideas off as their own any day now

well the image isn't photoshopped so idk what else to tell ya. The absolute facts as we konw them are:
-a random dude posted on December 12th that saban was going to retire after teh playoffs
-Saban retired like a week after their season ended
Those are indisputable. Whether the actual contract numbers are correct or not, who can know for sure? But obviously this guy heard from somewhere that saban was leaving after the playoffs and he did. So again, if this random nobody happened to know, then I'm sure hundreds of other power players that matter also knew.

If Texas was dropping bags, Alabama would not have stood a chance.
We are about to relegate you to Nebraska status.

Yep.
Whoever in charge thought it'd be cool for kids to freely transfer wherever they want for any reason they want is fricking stupid.

I believe 100 percent this happened.. But NCAA isn't going down the road to seize players phone records and after the Freeze issue at OM... If coaches are using school phones... Then they are just stupid. So color me shocked if anything happens
Would be pretty ballsy for Alabama to do also. See Mack Brown/Drake Mayes convo a year ago...

Then why would he have interviewed a WR coach?

In this country we call that, "liberty". That is generally the default condition, barring contractual obligations.
So "whoever in charge" was probably a judge.

This is an interesting point because the NCAA CANT seize phone records. They have no subpoena power. They aren't an entity that can compel anyone to do anything. They are an entity established by member schools to 'enforce' a set of rules.
However, if an institution chooses not to cooperate. They can't compel people to produce evidence, testify, etc like a court can.
Look at North Carolina a few years ago amid the cheating scandal. They kept their mouths shut and there wasn't much the NCAA could do because they had no one voluntarily coming forward to provide evidence.
Look at Michigan this year. They did the same. All there were basically were allegations. There was no one to come forward and corroborate and make statements in support of any of the accusations. That's why the NCAA hasn't done anything yet. The NCAA is a toothless tiger if an institution under investigation doesn't cooperate.
On the flipside, look at Tennessee with the Jeremy Pruitt deal. They pissed down their leg at the opportunity to bury Pruitt so that they wouldn't have to buyout his contract and it worked wonderfully for them.

Say what you want, no one has adapted more than coach Saban, every team has followed his blueprint, just buying players isn't coaching or recruiting. Ask Kirby Smart he has done nothing on his own. All his coaches have been vetted by Nick Saban first. Not adapting, and giving in two players desire, who only won the money are different. You don't like Nick Saban and I understand, he's probably kicked your teens brains in for a decade and a half.

Saban hates a fair playing field because he’s a pussy

number of players went to Saban and said they wanted their "deals" looked at/renegotiated
This is absolutely disgusting behavior from a student athlete. We’re breeding so many selfish narcissists with no concept of “team.”

The real story is 26 players within 48 hours of losing went to him directly and demanded more money. He got with administration and said frick this. This came from a person in know.

That's better than rewarding the schools that were best at cheating and hiding it it under the table and/or repressing investigations by their good buddies.

If the NIL is what forced saban into retirement, I think it was one of the greatest changes implemented in college football history.
Let it be written.

It’s more than just having “deep pockets”
Sensibility & Great Decision making will play huge factors. I think schools that have great planning & leadership will excel.
