re: If/when Blake Baker spurns LSU, does his decision say more about Mizzou or LSU?

LSU has won multiple national championships since either of these teams have won it.

Why do you idiots keep saying that Kelly fired him?

missouri fans still vying for potential moral victories even after an 11-2 season
Just can’t get that mentality out of them for some reason

Fired is the wrong word. I realized that after the timeline. Still did not retain him.

Nobody wants to work with an arse like Kelly. Makes sense

I hope this drags out for awhile. It’s fun…

If you’re the coach being sought as DC, which fan base do you want to coach for? Mizzou’s fans are lukewarm at best, and are usually pretty quick to admit that. I’ve driven past Faurot an hour before kickoff for an SEC opener and cycled through the first light at Stadium and Providence. There’s no comparison. None. Mizzou sold tickets this season that included beverages and snacks in order to achieve sellouts. It’s great they did that, makes it affordable for families, but it’s still gimmicky and top-tier programs don’t need to do that for conference games. Look at the success our previous coordinators and assistants have had. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a done deal. Congrats to Mizzou on a great season; they’ve been a lot of fun to watch.

Your current head coach did

That’s what did it. You caught us. Paying $50 for a ticket that includes free glizzies and soda in the 300 level of the stadium didn’t bring out an extra 10,000 fans.

Having a rabid, bipolar fanbase (even by SEC standards) isn’t always seen as a positive. I know that’s hard to believe since you don’t know anything else.

So that wouldn't be a slap in the face, LSU? Come on, no way he'd stick with the yankee Tigers when he could take his wife back home.
It’d say winning championships isn’t his priority. Which is fine it isn’t the main priority for some.

I lived in Columbia for 7 years, so please don’t try to sell me on the passion of Mizzou fans. They had a great season and I think the fans played a huge part in that, but it was an aberration. I hope they have continued success and it becomes a part of the culture there. When Drink was hired, there were so many people who thought he was beneath them, mainly because they weren’t at all familiar with Appy State. Not a lot of people there that are knowledgeable about college football. What you see as a bipolar fan base is actually a fan base that expects and inspires excellence. LSU football is not just a few months in the fall; it’s a year-round obsession. Mizzou football is limited to great seasons.

As fan I think Blake Bakers defenses are fun to watch. His players seem to have fun out there on the field running his scheme as well. He would be a good hire. I wish him the best.
A downside for going to LSU is it is year two for Kelly and he already has to fire his DC. Next year, with no Jayden Daniels, he may have to fire his OC. In year four Kelly, his new OC and new DC will all be on the hot seat. Why would Blake want to involve himself in that?
LSU could win another Championship with Kelly, who knows? NIL and the portal could change College Football in the years to come where some surprise teams could win the championship. If it doesn't change I think as long as Kirby Smart and Nick Saban are around the rest of us are fighting for number 3 in the SEC.

Baker is a smoke screen…Minter at Michigan is first choice. Trust me on this one
