Michigan
Alabama
Georgia
Texas

Next four:
Washington
Oregon
Ohio State
FSU

Is there really a question in anyone's mind about what would happen if Georgia played Washington? Georgia wins by at least two touchdowns. Georgia got hosed they are clearly one of the best teams in the nation

Agreed.

I just think the committee model is stupid and I hate that prognostication has a hand in it. If we “played all the games on paper” to determine who’s worthy college football wouldn’t be any fun.

This would work for me.

Michigan should not be allowed in the playoffs. They fricking cheated. It's fricked up that they are in before FSU.

Looks right in my opinion when it comes to what I see when i watch the games. But is that how it would play out if they played idk. Washington beat Oregon and I didn't see that happening. The results from this year show that the best 4 teams are

Michigan
Washington,
Florida State
Texas.

If its about what we see with our eyes and when we watch the game and not the results then why even play regular season games.

Really no reason to play the season. Just put the 4 teams that buy the best rosters in the playoff and call it a day.

The problem with that argument is Georgia is not a CC. And before you say it a CC caries weight in the CFP mandate. The eye test is only one factor not the main factor.

Agree 100 percent. The teams should have been

Michigan
Texas
Bama
Georgia

or

Michigan
Washington
FSU
Texas

The committee wanted Bama and the west coast so they voted for their desired result instead. Texas just happened to be on the Bama train.

Florida State isn't the 8th best team right now. They would lose to the majority of top 25 teams.

I think you’re underrating Washington a bit and overrating Michigan considerably.

But the overall point stands—“best four” would clearly be Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Washington/Michigan

Is Washington a lock to defeat Georgia? No. Could it happen? Yes.

Washington is the truth. They are better than Michigan.

Agree, except with the Travis-less FSU even being in the Top 8. Let’s drop the charade.

I’d also move Michigan to 3 with Bama and us as 1 & 2

I think the 4 best teams are probably Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama

But you know what? I also thought, like everyone else, that Oregon was clearly better than Washington, even though Oregon had one loss and Washington had 0

Oregon were 10pt Vegas favorites actually

And they lost

You play the games for a reason, and saying “no we’re pretty sure Alabama is better” is just not a justifiable conclusion

the question has been answered if it's who is more deserving and who are the "best" teams.

a TV show made a decision to try to avoid blowouts. they want competitive games and they felt like FSU's QB situation would not make them competitive against other top teams. I wish they would have come out and said that but they started talking about SOR and SOS.

UGA went into ATL knowing it was a quarter final and still played a bad game, so being knocked out is what it is. And lots of credit to bama for creating that bad game for UGA.

That being said, I can't see how the committee can look at this season's full body of work, see UGA and BAMA have 4 common opponents with very lopsided margins of victory, then look at the SECCG where Bama played very well and UGA didn't but still only loses by 3 and think that UGA is not a top 4 team.
