Jimbo’s terminology and system.
Why the hell would he do that with his job in the line? Maybe he just wanted the buy out.

Probably easier that one person learn something new than the entire team and staff, but I’m here for shite On Jimbo Parade, so whatever works for you.

Petrino was a fall guy and everyone knew it from his opening interview this summer and when the same vanilla offense marched out onto the field every week. It’s not anyone’s way but Jimbo’s. Petrino took a paycheck to buy Jimbo another year. It worked.

Nick saban requires this... As said, it's easier for one adult to learn new terminology than 50+ kids

It’s like that with most coaches, especially if it’s an offensive minded coach. The new guy has to learn the overall terminology so the entire staff and players don’t have too memorize all new play calls. Then they add their variations and tags to the play calls.

The only red flag with Petrino’s offense when he ran it with his QB, is it was a dink and dunk offense. Long 12-17 play drives nabbing 3 to 8 yards a play. Which sucks, bc we have WRs that can stretch the field. But when Connor was healthy, BP was putting up numbers. Led the nation in QBR until his injury. Don’t believe that we had or would have had a bad offense with the starters had Connor not broken his foot vs Auburn. The only guy BP couldn’t get going was Max. We had a bad oline. Exception was Connor and Henderson could still make more plays under pressure vs Max. But Max was tough as nails.

I’ll admit it. The people that said Jimbo’s ego wouldn’t allow jim to handover the offense to Petrino it were right.
We knew it was a possibility and that it could either be a huge success or a disaster/ firing.
The biggest problem though was that Jimbo trusted his job with Addazio as OL coach. Maybe he thought the buyout was too big, or maybe he didn’t care. But that OL was the worst I’ve ever seen.

He 100 percent was not running his offense, Jimbo died on the same hill as miles PRIDE. As a LSU fan that is why I respect Nick Sabin so much and it’s a lesson to being a good leader embrace change. He did and he sustained success for more years. If less and Jimbo would have they would both still be at their schools.

Bc Jimbo was never letting go of control and no one had any leverage to make him do so.
Stubborn…and rich now for it.
