Jason Autrey and his crew needs to be removed from officiating SEC games. Twice now he has HORRIBLY called an important Alabama game. He’s a public works director in Florida. Has never played a down of football. He started out as the clock operator in Middle School games and somehow got a spot as an umpire. He once said "It was probably the worst officiated game ever. I had no idea what I was doing. At the same time, it was probably the best experience of my life”. Then he started officiating in the Sun Belt conference and would fill in for the SEC. He has even said reffing is not a career but a hobby.

I know everyone likes to scream “REC” and all that but Autrey hasn’t just effected Bama. His crew is the same one who called the Nix spiked ball an incomplete pass against Ark in 2020. His crew missed multiple targeting calls to Bryce last year against Tennessee AND was the crew who lost track of what down it was and had to actually go to video review to figure it out. Of course everyone knows about last nights horrible officiating called both ways. There’s also been complaints of his crews officiating by other conferences.

Obviously officials don’t get every call right, but surely we can do better than this.

Yeah. He and his crew suck. I'm surprised he still has a job given all of the complains they have received.

I've never seen that crew call a game that I wasn't blown away by their sheer incompetence. They seem to struggle with even the simple things, like what constitutes illegal motion or what down it is. And that's any game they've called, whether Bama was playing in it or not. You would think behind the scenes, coaches would be livid that the conference continues to trot them out week after week.

I’m confident this thread will be a forum for rational discourse between gentlemen representing the various programs of our great conference.

Dumb comment - as if getting thumped in the head 100s of times per season makes you smarter.

Officiating has been embarrassing though.

Jason Autrey has the worst crew I’ve ever seen in my life..

From the Tennessee Alabama game last year, the LSU Mizzou game this year (the blatant no call offsides). Even the Bama LSU game called last year was awful

I think even Bama fans can admit they got away with an egregious no call on that face mask.

Not seeing a penalty is bad, but its understandable that refs cant see everything.

But not knowing the rules and forgetting what down it is, that's completely unacceptable.

It sounds like he is just incompetent as opposed to corrupt, like so many officials are for Bama.

In the first quarter I knew there would be a fight before the end. They were letting plays go on too long and allowing defenses to surround ball carriers to rip and tear at the ball long after forward progress had stopped. In an emotionally charged rivalry game, that's a recipe for disaster. I also knew in the first quarter pass interference would not be called.

There's calling a loose game and incompetence. Autrey crew is the latter.

The Big10 used to have the dumbest officials but the SEC took that crown from them years ago.

Officiating seems to be going to crap across the board.

As a person who just wanted to see a good game the officiating seemed horrible both ways. The moment seemed too big for the crew and they were totally overwhelmed. They were in their minds deciding when to call things. They were thinking about each call and whether they should make it or let it ride. Embarrassment for the SEC

I think these are the guys who didn’t give LSU a TD in the Missouri game even though the pile of players was five yards into the endzone.

They need to go but they aren’t the only ones

The ref crew in the UT Vandy game last night should never work again. Their incompetence was the cause of all the fights.

Maybe the conference can add a commercial or 2 during the game and use the revenue to hire professionals instead of the hobby model used in youth football. Fans for sure wouldn’t realize 20 extra ads a game with as many as we endure as it is.

You better thank his arse. Refs kept Bammer in the game or that pass at the end wouldn't have mettered.

Of course on that last play they didn't call you for blatant holding or pass interference.

Bammer an 8-4 team without ref help.

For the LSU fans, Autrey’s crew also officiated the flag fest LSU/Missouri game earlier this season.

The most blatantly missed call was the 3 men in motion at the time Auburn snapped the ball on 4th down.

You can argue that the crew was incompetent. But LSU and Auburn fans who think there's a Bama bias...that blown call at such a critical point just shows how stupid that idea is.
