IF he has surgery it'll be tightrope, recovery 3-6 weeks.
Tua had this done in 2019 in October and gimped even after he was cleared. Bowers MIGHT be close to full speed by playoff time but its not fully healed until probably 3 months depending on the severity.

probably easier to come back quicker as a QB with that procedure than a tight end

He will be back for the SECG

Yeah
QBs don't use their lower half.

Didn't Tua try to come back after 2 weeks?

They don't use their lower half as much as a tight end. They aren't going to be affected as much by a sprained ankle as a tight end in terms of their ability to still be productive. This isn't a hot take or controversial. But I'm sure you'll want to argue this point incessantly

No need to argue.
Lol
Watch more football. Especially the QB position.

Among Dawg boards, Tua was cleared after 11 days.
That's the reason why he was gimpy after the surgery.
He only missed 1 game.

It would be hilarious if Bowers came out for the UF game, 14 days after the injury.
Coaches won't let him, but it would be funny as hell if he did after all we've heard.

Tua was still gimpy after 11 days.
QBs rely heavily on their ankles. Throwing a football is a precision activity and slight discomfort can alter the motion/accuracy.
It also hampered mobility.
Tua's ankle hampered his mobility so much that he got beat up trying to escape the pocket and he injured his hip knocking him out of the rest of the season.
But some people think that a QBs ankle isn't a big deal.

We won't know til later in the week. Anyone that says that know for certain right now is wrong/lying. He MIGHT get surgery which could put him out ~6 weeks but the family is getting a second opinion
IIRC Tua had a HAS injury and had tightrope surgery and returned in 3 wks which was exceptionally quick. Is that same injury as Bowers?

Just so everyone's clear.
You think blocking Dlinemen, LB's, running routes, making cuts and fighting through tackles is somehow equal to a QB dropping back and throwing the ball?

Kind of depends on what you're talking about.
The stress put on the ankle from cutting/running/leverage when blocking is more than from planting and throwing. But no player should be cleared to play if their ankle isn't capable of handling all of those stresses.
But the impact of pain from an ankle that can handle the stress but is not pain free is likely greater on tasks where precision matters... like throwing accurate passes.
For a personal example: I was able to swim in a state championship swim meet with tendonitis in one of my shoulders. It hurt like hell, but my arm was still stable and my muscles were still working, so as long as I could stand the pain from the effort I could "power through it". Ended up doing better than expected in most of my events.
I couldn't have hit a free throw or thrown a strike with a baseball though. My shoulder was in excruciating pain.

Bowers was instrumental in recruiting Delp away from Clemson and Michigan as a 4 Star.
Delp is 6'5", currently weighs about 240, and runs a 4.6 forty.

It would be stupid because y'all don't need Bowers to beat us by double digits.

Great SI article about the surgery and how Tua and Jalen had this surgery in 2018 and how fast they came back, but neither was 100%. It will be a business decision for Bowers I would think.
