It's ridiculously stupid that this game isn't on the 2024 SEC schedule, yet SC plays Missouri, A&M, Oklahoma, and Alabama.
WTF? I was not aware of this.

It's not a rivalry for UGA fans but we are #2 on SC's list of rivals

UGA fans automatically think this and it's hilarious. UGA is #3 or #4 quite honestly. North Carolina is definitely ahead of UGA.

Yep. SC doesn't play UGA, Tennessee, or Florida next year. 3 of the closest SEC schools to SC and they remove them from the schedule. Garbage arse scheduling from the SEC.

Fair enough. I can get Clemson and UNC...

But who would be third on your list if Georgia is #4?

This thread is full of Kennesaw State grads talking about how "it's a rivalry for SC!!!!!!", and Carolina fans saying, "nah, it's just a competitive series that has fallen off. frick Muschamp."

Most Carolina fans would say UNC is No. 2, and UTK is 3. Then UGa.

Pre-Muschamp it was a better series than Uga/Auburn or Uga/UF.

And yet you have two big brothers

Unfortunately, SCar is surrounded by big brothers, each with a large lead in the series: Clemson, Georgia, UNC, Tennessee, and Florida.

Hard to be competitive when you don’t have the advantage over your neighbors.

UGA would be #3 on my list personally. Some SC friends despise Tennessee more. Some SC friends can't stand Kentucky. Just depends on who you talk to.

For me, the Mizzou game is more interesting/frustrating.

But I hate aTm with an unnatural passion.

We’re their #1 rivals and they’re our #8 or 9

We have as many combined Conference and National Championships as South Carolina has wins against us

They're the littlest of the little brothers. Relevance is a bigger rival to them.

On cue, your fanbase has proven my point.

It's not No.1 or No. 2 for most of us. Y'all get butthurt when we point it out.

It was competitive, and was fun for about 20 years, but it's really diverged recently. Don't see how that's defensive or angry.

To make a rivalry a series needs to be competitive, this one ain't, it's an absolute arse whipping in favor of us...

To hell you preach. Muschamp was at USC from what, 2016 - 2020??? Youre saying that UGA /USC was a better rivalry than UGA/Auburn or UGA/Florida for the 122 years from the first time UGA and USC played football until Muschamp showed up in 2016 and the Oldest Continuous Rivarly in the Deep South and the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party only became better games after 2016??? That is the most absurd thing ever written on these notably absurd message boards...

South Carolina doesn’t even register on the rivalry radar for me. There was some bad blood for a while when Spurrier was at the helm, but that was mostly due to the man, himself.

I like SC, personally, and hope for a good game with no injuries.

It's not a rival at all.

-You can only have a finite amoutn of rivals. Eveyr team on your schedule can't be a rival. Ga Tech, Florida, and Auburn are unquestioned, undeniable, absolute no-brainer "RIVALS" of UGA football. That's about the max we can handle
-We have a long history of palying SC but longevity is only one small part of the equation. Prior to SC joining the SEC, UGA held a 33-9-2 advantage. Inbcredibly one sided
-When SC joined the league things did begin to go their way at least som eof hte time. They got a big win over UGA in athens in their 2nd year in the league. They had a magical 2000 season that included knocking off a highly ranked (at the time, we'd lose 4 games) UGA team. This added fuel to SC thinking they were a rival of ours.
-When spurrier got there in 2005 it kind of got some UGA people getting on board with the idea too. Had aboslutely nothing to do with SC and everythign to do wiht the coahc. There were some really great contests over this 10 year period.
-Post spurrier it's been more of hte same as usual with UGA dominating more times than not.

SC is a school that for most of the teams' histories has barely reigstered as a blip on the radar, but for a very few brief flashes has been quite the thorn in our side before reverting back to their substandard norm in short order.

UGA fans have a weird complex of needing to be our #2 rival for some reason. It's quite odd.

Holtz & Spurrier were the two coaches that got a lot of the attention in the series for USC but it was JoMo beating Vince in his last-ever game at W-B in 1988 (Dooley's last season) that changed the course of the series -

Vince was 17-2-1 against Carolina - enter Ray Goof - that was the single biggest factor in what was to come -

USC won 11 and UGA 14 of the next 25 games through 2014 - Gamecocks won more in Athens than Auburn during that time -

the series shifted again as we hired our "Ray Goof" with otherwise known as Will Mushcamp -
