I'd probably be fun to be in a bar in Springfield, or Joplin, MO when the Hogs and Tigers play. Lots of fans of both teams in SW MO.
Have you ever been in a bar in Joplin?

Same thing with South Carolina and Clemson. Doesn't mean you can't have secondary rivalries.
who is your biggest SEC rival?

One side wins 70%+ of the time and that team's major population centers are far from the other state involved.
Makes sense that it wouldn't be a big rivalry, but I hope it evolves to be something for the Ozarkians to care about to bring the state of Missouri together a little more.

I think if both programs hadn’t fallen off a cliff this could be a good series. But it seems by the time this game rolls around both fanbases are just ready for the season to be over.
If either team was playing Vandy in this game it would probably garner about the same interest.
Hopefully both programs improve to make this game more attractive.
Our lack of a long history makes this difficult to consider this a rivalry.
Basketball has a better chance.

I can't recall a Missouri game before they joined the SEC except for an Independence Bowl or something.
I’d forget the 38-7 beat down we handed you in 07 too if I were you. Horrible way to send DMC off.

Yea. They got that arse spanked that year too.

That whole season was a nightmare. A portion of the fanbase tried to get Nutt fired, attacked him and his family, flew banners at games and such. By the time that bowl rolled around it was not a good situation for the team.
It’s a shame, that could have been a good matchup under normal circumstances. But it is what it is.

The hatred is real. It's the only rivalry were both sides actually killed one another.
frick any and everything related to that ugly arse state and that boring campus.

10-4 doesn't a rivalry make.

It should be more of a rivalry. Since Mizzou joined the conference, they've won 7 of the last 9. Part of the reason seems to be that Mizzou prioritize winning the game more than Arkansas. The Hogs need to turn up their intensity for the contest.

I’d like to see us play the game at Arrowhead a few times. Our two fanbases would tailgate and show up out the arse for that game.
I think it’d rev up the rivalry too with all of us mingling.

Yeah, both teams should try to win the game like every other series. One team just executes that plan poorly in this "rivalry."
FWIW, they also execute the "win the division" plan poorly since we've arrived too. Perhaps they just have a Mizzou curse.

Nutt already got the Ole Miss Job before the season began.
So all those distractions were for nothing.
