This is a well thought out and reasonable post.

I dont think this is true. We had several trophy games in the Big8 and the trophies went back many decades. ISU, oSu, OU, ku, NU...I might be missing one or two.

It probably has something to do with history of playing teams. MU lost most of their rivalries when they left the Big12. They played KU 110 times, IA State 103 times, KState 97 times and Nebraska 95 times.

Arkansas has a lot more history with SEC teams and new additions of ATM and Texas. Arkansas has played ATM 78 times, Texas 76 times, Ole Miss 69 times and LSU 67 times.

They have only played each other 14 times. Only one time I can think of the the game really mattered was one of the year MU played in the SECCG.

I don't think that means what you think it means.

Y’all never had a rivalry with Nebraska? Because my dad went to Mizzou when they were in the Big 8 and he loathes both KU and the Huskers… A lot.

Arkansas would have played Ole Miss more had they not canceled the series from the 60s to the 80s.

This happened from fights that went around the stadium in Little Rock.

Primarily out of jealousy for both athletic programs

I'm really hoping these threads stop once the season starts. We've rehashed this so many times. It's not a long enough of a series to be a rivalry despite the appearances on this forum.

Agree on Nebraska. He was there when Dan Devine was… don’t know the h2h, but I’d bet Devine had the overall edge in winning percentage, success, and if y’all played regularly H2H. Maybe I’m totally wrong, have never cared about KU football. Was a fan of bball when Nicky Bradford was there.

Devine did get the better of Nebraska. This despite Nebraska having several really good teams in that period. The Big 8 was a really good conference in the '60s as far as having several good teams each year. Nebraska or Oklahoma won most of the titles but KU, Colorado, and Mizzou all won or shared a title or so. OSU, Iowa State, and Kansas State were the dog teams that decade.

Yeah. We have a lot of family on his side that are Mizzou Alums. But honestly we treat our new “rivalry game” as a joke and always at least watch (some root) for one another.

Not true. I live in the Ozarks. We look forward to the Arkansas game, and not just because we know it'll be a win.

I only hate one team and that's kansas. And dislike for the Nubs and Texas. All from the Big 8/Big XII days. That's it.

Really it's because we haven't done our part in football because up until recently we have sucked donkey balls. I predict Arkansas will start winning a few more over Missouri and then we will see how it looks.
