And yall fired the two people who accomplished that.

This is why you don't have nice things right now.

so you are saying we should have kept Chiz?

Gus' program had grown stale. Everybody saw it.

Auburn has competed for decades in this conference with numerous coaches. We will be just fine.

Based upon current state of program I'd have Auburn in the highly unlikely category

You can tell the list was made by an Aubie.

No Chance - Vandy - obviously

Highly Unlikely - Ole Miss, Miss St, KY, USCe, Mizzou

Likely but hard to come by: Aggy, Arkansas, Auby, Tenn, OK

Most Likely: Bama, LSU, Florida, Texas, Georgia

Auburn made a bad hire. That put us in a hole.

Not sure how AU is on a higher tier than Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.

Probably bc Auburn is a better program than them

It’s pretty simple tbh

Drop Auburn down to the next tier and the list looks good

As an Arkansad fan, you are not qualified to have an opinion here.

If OP was more realistic and not trying to play nice, Arkansad would be in the Vandy/ Kentucky tier

That' not nice. As a past SEC champion in football they have earned a say.

If you think adding Texas and Okl. is going to drastically change the SEC, you are in for a rude awakening.
I... never... said that?

I asked why Auburn was considered a consistent contender for SEC titles in the OP, and the response was "they did this well 40 years ago"

or...."they have done this the last 40 years"? Big difference.

Hell, lets just take the last 11 years.........

Auburn has 2 (2 coaches)

UGA has 2 (1 coach)

LSU has 1 (1 coach)

bama has 6 (1 coach)

Ok...? I'd still take the last 2 years of evidence more than I'd take the last 11 years.

I don't really think what Gus Malzahn did 10 years ago has any bearing on what's going to happen in the next 10 years

My take:

Incapable: Vanderbilt, Kentucky

Highly Unlikely To Ever Have a Chance: Miss St, Missouri, Arkansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Auburn

Likely at some Point but Hard to Come By: TN, Florida, Texas, OU

Most Likely to Win: Alabama, Georgia, LSU

ahhh, so coaching changes have no bearing on future success? Got it. bama had better hope saban lives forever then. Texas.......you are in deep shite.

You're arguing that an SEC championship you won in 2013 somehow indicates you're one of the favorites to win one in an essentially new league moving forward.

I'm not sure there's a school I fear less than Auburn at the current moment

I am saying over the last 40 years, which is quite the time frame, Auburn has competed equal with one (LSU) and better than every other member not named alabama. Bring in Tex and Okl.. That is what the numbers say also. That's not "opinion". Auburn will be just fine.

Yet Texas is "in deep shite" when they have had a very similar 40-year stretch that Auburn has had?
