How come he wasn't fired when he went 8-4 almost forever!

Gus went 8-4 twice at Auburn.

There were times when Auburn fans wanted Gus gone and it went back and forth for so long and many Auburn fans have said he should have been fired 7 years ago or so when he wasn't doing much better, and it almost set Auburn down to be like Tennessee/Arkansas when they were really bad for a while.

Again, not a problem unique to Auburn.
Your boosters should’ve been more meddlesome in 2013.

Lol

You are talking yourself in circles.

1) look at Auburns boosters. No other school is like that

2) you can't say that other schools are meddlesome too and then cry that a rivals boosters aren't meddlesome enough. That is how I really know that you can't see the forest from the trees.
You hire an AD to make those decisions. You don't allow boosters to meddle. It makes your AD a eunuch. And it is why Freeze was told by everyone to stay out of auburn.

You gave your coach an extension and raise for 3 losing seasons including chickening out of a bowl game against your biggest rival. Pathetic.

1. Kirby- Saban long past retirement age or Kirby pre 50. No brainer.
2. Saban- Don't know how long I'd have him, but if it's three years the next coach would be set up for success.
3. Kelly- Best coach left, maybe not the best recruiter.
4. Stoops- Have no idea why this guy isn't entertaining offers at bigger football schools. If he can recruit at an elite school, he's in playoff almost annually starting next year.
5. Kiffin- In college, he's been successful everywhere but USC. That may have been due to what he inherited there. Hasn't exactly been easy for most of the others either.
6. Heupel- He's. good coach, but that offense has a ceiling and works better at a school that can't recruit well. The defense will never be much better than average as long as he's there.
7. Pittman- Perfect fit where he's at. He'll be there until he's ready to quit.
8. Freeze- He's a good coach, but a sketchy person. And wasn't that careful with his cheating (not just on his wife, on NCAA rules)
9. Jimbo - Don't want the frustration of a roller coaster ride.
10. Beamer- Good coach. Can he recruit well enough to get them back to mid Spurrier years level?
11. Napier- Turning around recruiting right now. Maybe there is hope.
12. Lea- Another Franklin? If so, Vandy will be hiring a new coach soon.
13. Drink- Needs to show improvement this year.
14. Sark- Been at some big time schools. Big time wins? Not so much.
15. Venables- Inherited a Rolls. Driving it like it's a Pinto.
16. Arnett- Have no idea how this guy is a as a HC. Hope they give him at least a year. The offensive change could be ugly his first year. But no defensive minded coach was gonna continue with the air raid/veer and shoot type stuff.

Kirby since he’s younger than Saban

Maybe Kelly.

I like Beamer for some reason. Seems like a good man.

A 16 team league is unwieldy.

I get what you're saying, but this is like three years ago saying you'd want Brady over Mahomes. It makes no logical sense.

I would love to know why some of you rank Kelly so high? Must be all those NCs he won while playing 5 stars against powerhouses like Navy.

And Richt couldn't carry Kirby's in the championship department

Fans of teams who do not have 10 win seasons consistently and who aren't in the running for a conference title most years and occasionally in the conversation for the natty...so about 98% of CFB fans

Who would you rank above him (besides Kirby and Saban) and why?

He consistently plays UGA tough.

That's all I have left to defend Stoops.

Beamer? Lol
Heupel? Lol

Stoops gets his guys ready most seasons for the UGA game.

I suppose you mean this as a slam? Are you saying that I am wrong? Because if you are saying that I am wrong, say so without trying to be cute

Why? He’s not a recruiter(average class in the 30s), he has had 10 year at Kentucky and has finished 2 winning conference records (5-3 both times). At what point can we say he is what he is and move on? Because he is a below average SEC coach.

I honestly don't know. Stoops has done a great job at managing the program, and elevating it. But on game day ? He does some questionable shite.

Now, if he steps back and lets Coen get creative ? Then I'd be willing to elevate his spot on the list. But I have to see it.

I think it's more a process of elimination. Who would you put over him? He's a guy that hasnt' won it all but he's steady and consistent and is generlaly gonna be "pretty good" as a baseline every year.
