I suppose you mean this as a slam? Are you saying that I am wrong? Because if you are saying that I am wrong, say so without trying to be cute

I'm saying it was sarcasm because that's what everyone called Kirby before he won the title. It wasn't a serious post. There were threads of rival fans using Richt and Kirby's records their first few years to demonstrate they were the same coach.

I would love to know why some of you rank Kelly so high? Must be all those NCs he won while playing 5 stars against powerhouses like Navy.

I agree with this statement.

Who would you rank above him (besides Kirby and Saban) and why?
I can't speak for the other guy, but myself I have several.

These are in no particular order, just would take them over Kelly.

Heupel and Stoops have done a more with less. A lot less.
Stoops is winning at Kentucky. Enough said.
Heupel won 11 games last year playing in the SEC with a ragtag collection of 3 stars and walk-ons.

Freeze has proven he can win in the SEC. He is a dirtbag, but we're talking about hiring a coach, not a preacher.

Beamer and Pittman may never be NC level coaches, but so far neither is Kelly. However, both will be solid 9-11 win coaches when all is said and done.

Kelly has done less with more than all the coaches I named above.Like the other poster said. He was at ND pulling in the top recruits to play against Navy and Ball State and zero NCs. He got close a couple of times, but so did Mark Richt.

4. Stoops- Have no idea why this guy isn't entertaining offers at bigger football schools. If he can recruit at an elite school, he's in playoff almost annually starting next year.

His recruiting prowess is his ability to recruit O HI O as most before him have never been able to do. If he goes farther away he loses that advantage.

It is a hard thing to get used to. Crazier yet, when you watch every game ? Kentucky does a lot of odd, dumb shite. They've left a ton of wins on the table. Yet, even with that, they're winning some.

This will piss Belle off, but I'll say that Stoops isn't even the most important guy in the coaching room. Vince Marrow is. And Brad White is probably more key than Stoops.

Credit, however, to Stoops - for amassing what I really think is one of the best coaching staffs in the conference. Some men would not do that. Too insecure.

If he can get high level recruits from Ohio to Kentucky, he can recruit kids to go to elite football schools with a good recruiting base.

Saban isn't a normal 72 year old.

If you told me he was 65 I would believe you.

He can still delegate. An 80% Saban is better than most coaches out there.

You and I know Saban isn't retiring in 2 years.

Freeze is about to get us back to Auburn football.

Freeze's overall record at Ole Miss was 39-25. His overall conference record was 19-21. If you look at his entire body of work it's not that impressive. His only claim to fame is that he beat Bama a couple of times.

Kelly won at least 10 games in each of his last 5 seasons at Notre Dame. He won 10 games his first season at LSU. He has played for a natty. He doesn't have the skins on the wall that Saban and Kirby have but there is no one else better than him on the list.

and the most blatantly obviously bought and paid for recruiting class of all time in 2013. Still kinda head scratching how they thought they'd get away with that one lol

Key part of that sentence.

It's not. But if it were so easy, why haven't more coaches done it?

Somehow the NCAA always finds out about violations, never know how they do it - they just do
