Good catch. I wasn’t completely aware of FK’s coaching journey until the situation in Cleveland. I have no idea if it would work, but it would definitely be interesting.

hope we go for more of an “unknown” if we don’t get one of the premier names on that list. There should be plenty of OCs with good schemes around the country that aren’t getting noticed right now.

Also, BYU and Utah were both top 10 in offensive efficiency last year, maybe we can look at their OCs as well

I completely agree with this sentiment. We should be looking for the next big name. Preferably someone likely to be here for more than 2 seasons.

I’ve got kind of low expectations here, but holy frick, hopefully not Gase or Garrett.

Matt Patricia doesn’t have any connections to Saban or UA, but fits the mold of BOB and Daboll… to be honest, not loving any of the NFL options I can think of.

But I can’t reiterate enough, seriously, not Adam Gase. PLEASE.

I would rather have Major Applewhite or maybe even Dave Radar.

This will be a preview of our QBs under Gase.

Dude has wrecked more QBs than Derrick Thomas.

I’m just looking at trends or connections to make sense of the NFL stuff. None of them looking great at the moment.

Maybe Belichick can promote all of them and we won’t have to worry about it. The Pats needs a “3rd-and-Short Passing Game Coordinator”, right?

We should also look at the Kansas OC

This is another name that WJOX in Bham noted as a possibility.
Shea Tierney. NY Giants QB COACH

Was an analyst at Bama with Daboll, went with Daboll to bills and now the qb coach for the Giants.

I am just joking, I live in New England so I get all the Patriots news. Judge and Patricia won't have to leave if they don't want to. I could see Judge taking a job here as he almost took the Miss State job a few years ago but I can't see Saban hiring him as a coordinator, I doubt Patricia wants anything to do with college although he might have made himself unhirable elsewhere in the NFL after the Lions stuff and this stint with the Pats. I guess he could change up. Your logic isn't flawed but I want Patricia nowhere near Tuscaloosa as the Lions players hated him. Judge somewhere on staff would be fine with me other than coordinator (unless it is special teams).

If it’s NFL, it better be Brian Johnson. He has done wonders with Jalen and I love his scheme. My first choice would be an up and coming young coach, followed by Mullen/Lebby. I honestly believe Saban is going to drop his nutz on the SEC and get a big name for his last ride.

It’s all good. I was just poking around for fun as the “NFL HC” rumors started flying. I think everyone has their reasons for disliking several of the coaches listed.

As it turns out, I didn’t have to poke much… most of the coaches I listed are already back on staff with BB or one of his former assistants.

For the record, I love the idea of Jermy and Freddie killing an entire sleeve if SKOAL on game day. The “get back” coach better show for camp with a few extra buckets this year. I’m kidding… kinda? The practice videos alone would be worth the chance.

I’m I the only one who’s not at all excited about Lebby as OC?
