Don't blame him for picking the bag. Time for us to focus on RW

Which bag? You know we offered one probably just as big. I'm not trying to be a dick but some kids like other schools more than Auburn.

We starting to sound like bammers in here, again not being a dick to you cause I've seen it mentioned by several others.

Not to brag on my sources (there are none), they were 100% right on who we landed today

UF lost a hell of a lot of their class. Common sense says they had more money to offer..........just common sense though.

Common sense says the kid picked them in the first place, and lives much, much closer to Gainesville... Common sense and such. I'm sure he got a bag, but I'm pretty sure a bag is the only reason we were even in the race.

McCray just tweeted he will announce at 5:45 on IG.

Not sure if eastern or central time.

He announced that he is signing with Florida.

Exactly! It works that way for everyone. Hence, common sense. These kids aren't turning down much larger bags to play for a school that is losing recruits left and right and their HC is #1 on the SEC hot seat.

Kinda strange to delay your signing just to sign with who you were already committed to.

LJ to Florida official. Part of me thinks he was coming to Auburn until we lost KJ today.

No I suspect NIL money was the deciding factor along with prior commitment and closeness to home. KJ likely had little to do with decision. He can always enter portal if UF completely falls apart.

He was waiting on more money from UF after we upped their offer.

I hear you. So if he's not going to Florida for the bag, then he's picking them for the amazing situation where he'll have to play for a different coach he doesn't know? They had back to back 5-7 seasons brother. Go look at their schedule Next year and find me 6 victories. If he made a football decision it was a bad one.

Why?

He was scheduled for 9am and even at this early hour everything had suddenly changed with Florida.

And then Freeze admits in his press conference we had some late night battle holding on to one of our commits.

The late night deal is to be expected. You were being a wet diaper for weeks though.

I think we can all agree that this was a phenomenal day for Auburn football. The future is bright on the plains and those that doubted that Hugh Freeze's recruiting prowess now have some crow to eat.

For all the bammer haters towards Perry and how he "isn't a 5 start talent" "wouldn't see the field"

On LJ —

He grew up going to Gainesville. As a preteen he decided he wanted to commit to playing high level football while visiting UF/doing some sort of event there.

I think it says a lot we made it super close late. Just not sure we had the emotional component of this one at any point

I’ll count myself in the doubter crowd. Was unsure how the illegal benefits Hugh offered at OM were causal to his prowess on the trail. With all things equal, how would he recruit? I think ‘25 will tell the story.

If you think every (good) SEC team wasn't paying players I've got some news for ya...

Basically every good player at an AU, Bama, FL, GA, LSU caliber school has been getting paid since at least the 80s.

I still can’t believe people thought he would struggle recruiting. He has been phenomenal.
