Can’t really use that caveat when we’re sitting here talking about it before the decision. Obviously didn’t happen quickly if we’ve heard about it

So trusting his guys while passively mentioning FSU is a bold take.

I think he only mentioned FSU in his update because he knew people would be asking. He’s either gonna be very right or very wrong. Either way I respect him for sticking to his guns and not adding info that he doesn’t actually have.

I noticed on their show today they mentioned if Patterson is a miss look for White or Laquon Robinson out of JC.

Pink brought up Beamon again as a possible flip something is afoot there. Just get the feeling he is listening and is not as solid to bama as we might think.

Also said dont be surprised if we look at JC a lot for linemen as opposed to just the transfer portal.

Says the guy who had no idea Dee Ford was an All-american for AU and NFL All-Pro.

It’s an FSU/Miami battle. Jeffrey Lee has been blindly confident for a long time, dating back to the Chizik era classes when he predicted everyone that was interested in Auburn to be 70% confidence.

I know all that.

It’s one thing to be a homer. It’s another to say FSU isn’t even in the running when you have mods on other sites saying they’re the favorite.

I’ll wait to see where Patterson announces then I will predict where he says he going.

Weird recruitment for him so far. I could see any of the 4 schools landing him.

I give JLee credit for adjusting. 2012 he went full homer mode and thought everyone was going to Auburn. He’s since become much less of a homer. Again, I think the guy is just going on what he’s hearing and not following the other site mods just to follow them. He was one of the few that got Bolden to FSU right.

With that said, he and JHead are definitely on an island on this one and someone is going to end up hella wrong

JLee with an update on Patterson. Believes for a while it was an Auburn-Michigan-Miami battle, but it has now narrowed to an Auburn-Miami battle. Thinks it will be tough to pull him Miami being that he lives in Hollywood, FL but that the staff is making it a legit battle. Also adds the caveat that a lot can change very quickly these days.
That’s what he has been told.

Keep in mind he was also right that KJ Bolden was down to FSU/Auburn while everyone thought Georgia was involved. He said Kamarian Franklin was down to Ole Miss/Auburn when everyone thought Miami was involved. He said Flory Bidunga was down to Kansas/Auburn (Kansas on top) when everyone thought he was going to Duke.

He’s got a solid source, it seems, but he can only go off of what he’s told.

Auburn has a new crystal ball for Dimitri Nicolas from JLee. Commits Friday, anywhere from 12pm - 5pm before his game.

Seems clear that he was the backup plan for Franklin. Couldn’t tell you a thing about him but he comes from an area known for talent.

Not sure anything jumps off the page for Nicolas. As a junior he was a top 250 looking kid. Has listed offers from UGA, UF, Miami, A&M, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Oregon.

I think as he’s grown into his frame more he lost some explosiveness. Rivals has him near 290lbs now and he’s definitely a guy that seems to have a high floor but could go a lot directions after a college strength and conditioning program gets to him

That’s much of what separates guys at his size from one another

He’s a nose tackle. Hard to find explosive nose tackles. But if you throw him in the DT with the 3 tech guys he’s going to look slow and not as explosive. He will be a solid player.

What we are looking for is a couple guys at the 3 tech that can play the run and rush the passer, like Nick Fairley and Derrick Browns of the world.

I do like the length we have been going for in this cycle. Most of the guys are between 6-3 and 6-6 on the DL somewhere around 270-300 lbs. even if you miss on a kids skill they at least have the frame.

Jonesy, thats what he sounds like from what Ive read. Some guys put on weight and it pays off in spades (like it seems to be happening with Faulk) and some guys put on the weight and the loss in quickness is not offset by the added weight (Byron Cowart). Not saying he is at either of these fellas level coming out of high school just using them as examples.

DJ Lindsey will be a stud, Blockton "developmental", looking at what we have in the room now, I dont think we need another developmental HS kid. Id hold out, swing for the fence on a Beamon and if we miss go JC or portal. Who knows maybe Carter commits and brings his DT teammate from Mater Dei, Im kidding, sort of.

Corch to your point, isnt that what Sledge and Johnson are projected at, do we really need a third developmental guy for that position. Im asking, not being judgemental.
