Couple updates.. Council did an interview today and apparently he is now getting some snaps at C. Still sounds like Tate is 1st up to Brahms can't go though.

According to Hoke the QB depth chart is- Finley, Ashford, Calzada.

No one knows yet they aren’t even close to making a depth chart. Hoke might be guessing what he thinks the chart is for now

In the most recent tracking the depth chart piece following the scrimmage, I listed Finley, Ashford and Calzada as the QBs, in that order. Those depth chart projections aren't always exact, but they are best guesses based on a combination of different information I have.

Having said that, I can confirm that the quarterback depth chart entering this week is indeed:

1. T.J. Finley
2. Robby Ashford
3. Zach Calzada

That's part of the post. The fact that he said confirmed instead of his usual prediction tells me he spoke to someone on staff imo.

Maybe so. Doesn’t matter to me I’ll pull for any of the 3. If a staffer is saying that’s the depth chart then TJ must be way way out front

Hoke said it was based off his sources and that is what we saw on Saturday

I think Calzada has basically just played so poorly he's not in the conversation right now. Ashford has done some good things, but he's either turned the ball over and came really close a bunch of times so far, and TJ isn't wowing anyone but he's not making the mistakes the other 2 are.

With that said, I won't be shocked if we play all 3 against Mercer.

Jeremiah Wright might have been moved back to OL lol. I feel bad for the kid. He can't stick anywhere long enough to learn a position.

That’s hilarious. JGT did say he was struggling on the DL w/ the third team though.

Doesn't surprise me. Hard to be good at something when you do it for a little while and then get flipped to the other side of the ball.

I was told this is by design for the team. Calzada will take snaps with the 1's on Friday. He's expected to not screw things up.

Hoke just post a new update from today's practice. He says he spent all 20 mins watching the QB's throw against air w/ no pass-rush.

Based off his charting, he had the following:

1) Finley: 19 for 20
2) Ashford: 13 for 22
3) Calzada: 16 for 19

That was the order they appeared in all drills.

It sounds like Ashford had a bad day. Several poorly thrown balls. Calzada apparently had two drops.

From his notes there we're a lot of dropped passes.. I think our QBs throwing against air isn't going to tell us much honestly. They need to be facing a pass rush and DBs before we will be able to tell. I wish I would let them go live in this next scrimmage, but I'm guessing they will just use the Mercer game as glorified scrimmage.

I’m impressed how TJ is handling himself and the pressure surrounding him. Sounds like all he has done is exactly what they’ve asked (save for the stupid eluding arrest). If he has developed, and his head in the pocket has gotten better (please get rid of the ball) I’m ok with it. He’s a good kid. That said, I don’t think we are even close to naming a starter. This week and the next scrimmage will be big.

If we win only 5 or 6 games and get our shite pushed in by Bama, this could be reality.
