Why are we even having this discussion? You guys realize that Florida's base defense is a 4-3, right? Muschamp also ran a 4-3 under Tuberville.

Are you guys under the assumption that Muschamp would mean a full-out switch to a 3-4? That is not accurate at all.

I was just answering the question asked.

I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the people in this thread who seem to be under the assumption that Muschamp is a strict 3-4 coach, which he absolutely is not.

He came from the church of Saint Saban so he is a 3-4 man at heart....

That's what I was confused about. I thought he ran a 4-3, but just from the thread I was under the impression he ran a 3-4. I haven't watched much Florida football in the past couple years so I wasn't exactly sure what he was running

Move someone like Deon Mix to NT . He is big and takes up space on the bench. I imagine that can transfer to blockers

It'd be nice if the NT had knees

Everyone who coordinates under Saban runs a 3-4, because that is Saban's defense. Unlike Saban, Muschamp is not a devoted "3-4 guy"...otherwise you'd see that as Florida's base defense, which isn't the case. I don't believe that he ran a 3-4 at Valdosta State either.

"Muschamp is from the Nick Saban coaching tree, and he has a similar defensive philosophy. The main difference is that Muschamp prefers to run a 4-3 defense, compared to the 3-4 that Saban and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart use at Alabama. The Longhorns used a 3-4 in recent years because of a shortage of defensive tackles, but the scheme Muschamp will use in Gainesville is mostly a 4-3 with the 3-4 used in some situations."

I think its definitely in reach for Monty to get to over 320+ this offseason. IF, that's the direction we should go. We definitely need someone better than Daniel on the end IMO. Might not have the personel yet though

I think Adams would be a total waste as a 3-4 NT.

I think he would be an impact player as a 3-4 DE though.
