but I hope our run blocking improves or we'll have a lot of problems

This right here, I was thikning our interior linemen were going to be our strength and we have struggled mightily to run between the tackles. Even against Mizzou we really didnt blow them off the ball they just couldnt tackle.

What are some improvements you've noticed

WR's and QB.

Oline needs to get better.

Idk about wrs, I think that had to do with mizzous secondary. And stidham looked better in the pocket maybe that'll carry over to when he's actually facing a real pass rush.

We need plenty of short, "hot" routes and screens to counter pass rush of good teams. Gus never adjusts to what the defense is doing. That's my main problem with him. Now he can draw up the first few drives beautifully. After that, DUH..... UMMMMMM......HMMMM

Agreed. Wideouts still gotta get separation though or those step ups are still gonna end up as sacks or scrambles or passes out of bounds more time than we want.

We stretched the field. Stid is getter better every game. Defense is nasty. We have a chance to continue to improve.

CL was handed the keys after Clemson. We became a pass first team and a better coached team.

Still not sure how we will do against an elite defense.

Some of both. Mizz is very bad but we are improving. If you can't see that, you are not looking

We are no world beaters yet but improvements are being made all over the field.

Auburn had designed pass plays on about 2/3 of plays vs Clemson.

We've been a pass first team all year. We just sucked at passing GSU/Clemson

Are you sure? If so I'm disappointed in playcalling still.

Yes, Gus gave up the clip board. I think it helps that we put Chip in the press box. We went vertical a lot more this game to stretch the field. It is not play calling, but the Oline, but i did see improvement. Mizzou sucks, but they are better than GSU and Mercer. Find out this week.

Gus has zero passing plays inside the red zone. If he can't pound it in, he kicks the FG

Lutz would be disagreeing with you.

I would like to see a few plays where they roll Stidham out and toss to a back or TE

Would be nice to see

Mizzou sucks, but we saw an improving team.

The OL is playing better.

Stidham is knocking the rust off and looks much more comfortable. He is spreading the ball around. The timing with the WR's is getting better. He is seeing the field better.

As I have said several times.....we need to run the ball better between the tackles.

The last two weeks against inferior opponents, other than the 5 turnovers, our guys are playing much better football on the O side of the ball.

All we can ask is to continue seeing improvement every week.

We actually tried to target the TE against Clemson though we didn't use the roll out. But that defense is so well coached that they weren't fooled.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a little more creativity in the redzone this week against MSST especially out of the Wildcat. Lindsey has a few wrinkles including some counters and even passes that I expect we break out soon against tougher SEC opponents

Just relax. Enjoy the win. It is a bit of both, but our fans make way, way, way to much of the coaching/play calling aspects of our staff. Players must execute. When bama used the wildcat every play to beat USCe in 2009 on the way to a national title nobody griped about their play calling. Heck, uga used it over and over again last Saturday against MSU.

Whatever play is called our biggest issue has been poor execution. The reasons are complex. No game changing QB talent, poor OL execution, poor preparation by coaching, etc...but it isn't the play calling.

The Wheel route was a TD right there

Ya, if Pettway turned his head around and expected the ball. That is 100% on Pett, Stidham was about to throw it and hit him between the #s on the wrong side of the jersey

Pettway is useless in the passing game. He has maybe 1 career reception?
